Islands bug?

A new update is now available, introducing "Points of interest" and many more changes!

    I understand that if I sail North I get to a cold island, and South I get to a hot island.


    What is supposed to happen if I sail straight East or West?


    In my save, I somehow end up on the same North Island... I was expecting to find another temperate island instead.


    Is this the expected behaviour? Happy to share my save game to check it if it is a bug.

    Currently, there are only 3 main biomes. The starting island is always temperate, the first island to the north is always arctic, and the one to the south is desert.

    All other islands are randomly assigned to one of these 3 biomes.


    However, more biomes will be added, and these will likely be found in the west/east.
