[Planning Stage] RCN Mod

  • [I guess I'll be the silly bugger to post the first 'mod idea' here with me actually wanting to do it thanks to what Rising World advertised itself to have & be with features. I also know it's "too soon" so I'm at least going to list what I have in mind to see whenever I can put it into action.]

    [This mod is waiting for biomes + water update before actually considering adding anything file-related. Also for me to get a proper computer to run this game + the game purchased + the much needed helping hands to make this mod possible.]

    - Why An RCN Mod?


    RCN = Royal Canadian Navy


    Why? Because nobody else is going to. My fellow Canadians are too afraid while the neighbors too the south constantly dictate what should & shouldn't be done. I want to connect with my Canadian pride by bringing them into the vast world that shall be Rising World. All those 'realistic' & detailed features seeming to be perfect for this mod idea.


    This mod is basically aiming to add Canadian World War 2 vessels in their human female form while being heavily 'inspired' by KanColle. A way to respect Canada's naval military back in WW2 by viewing the WW2 vessels in their human female form with military uniform & miniture ship equipment attached onto them. This mod is basically aiming to add a nice chunk of Destroyers, light cruisers, and a trio of Armed Merchant Cruisers into this game in their human female form while armed with shrunken ship weaponry on them while 'skating' around on Rising World's water-related biomes. Whenever not in combat they would also be found without their ship equipment roaming the base you built, if you did, while having to collect their cards to even access them from shipwrecks & similar.


    One would have to enjoy naval combat, Animefied ships in human girl forms, while also keeping them well supplied & repaired for sorties. All that, while reminding yourself that captains & sailors on those vessels viewed their ships as actual entities; Ships being viewed as woman, thus the human female forms.


    [*Note: I'm also open to the idea of actually adding in the 1:1 scale (or rough scale) ships in Rising World, just as long as I can see the 'KanColle' version in the end. If you want actual ships from the RCN then model them while assisting me with what needs to be done. I'll consider such a lovely side 'easteregg' :thumbup: ]


    - About KanColle (Game & Anime):

    - Planned Features & Units:


    I guess I'm going to accidently complicate things for myself and others, yet still desiring at one point & time to add these to make the 'mini' mod fully functional. These features & units need to both me in to make this mod actually practical in the first place.


    - Features:


    [Aimed mostly at KanColle 2D ship girls gameplay, not vessels. I shall welcome actual ship vessels, just that you'll have to insert those for me if you want those. Run it by me so we can make it functional in some manner. I shall 'try' and make use of these NPC Traders by making them their own entities.]

    • Naval Combat - The actual selling point is the whole ship girls fighting & the freedom. This mod shall need the water & water biomes to be releases to allow the ladies to 'sail' in their ice skating manner to do combat. They'll need to be buoyant to float & to do combat, until killed & sunk. I'm hoping to have them go in a fleet of 1-6 (and possibly more) while allowing to be given formations. They would need to attack above (air), directly (on water), and under (submarines). [Boots based on ship keel would need to allow them to keep boyant while inserting a skating (on ice) motion when moving on water.
    • AI Equipment & Inventory - I do hope NPCs shall mirror players in importance when it comes to equipment & inventory space. They'll be needing their 1-4 equipment slots + slots for supplies gained from expedition. Maybe even ammunition.
    • Computer Object (WW2 & 2015 Era) - Various Ww2 era machines to send your ship girls on (1) missions, (2) to acquire quests, & (3) to go on expeditions. (2 goes into 1 with randomly generated quests for rewards & supplies with 3 being automated. Should also be a chance to upgrade from WW2 era tech to modern day tech when following the implied lore of the Japanese KanColle by allowing you to use modern day technology, such as a tablet to tend to tasks, or a stationary desktop.
    • Card Collection Book - You need to collect the actual cards in RW to actually unlock them. You would need to basically find them dropped in underwater shipwrecks, sunken Abyssals, and by beating respawnable bosses for special ones. Gaining one should force you to lock your cards in a card collection book for 'Fairies' to use in 'construction'.
    • Fairies - These little entities could be carried over from the KanColle universe to tend to resupply, crafting, and construction tasks (if possible). They would be your little minions to keep your 'ship girls' tended to & in sortie condition.
    • Expeditions - Using the above computers should spawn a roster (Pokemon gameboy style) to *poof* the appropriate NPC model until they return from their re-supply expeditions. You need those extra bit of supplies to maintain a well-oiled navy.
    • AI Capture - Wanting to allow the option for an enemy capture moment to gradually term them, or keep as 'hostage' to increase spawn rate of hostilities & to turn the enemy into an friend, after much persistence. [Rimworld & lore inspired.]
    • (And others....(such as healing, constructions, turrets, & etc.)
  • - Units/NPCs:

    The KanColle version (the main aim of this mod) shall basically be AI NPCs whom you control, command, and attack with on water. They're NPCs you should be able to customize, see battle, and connect with on a patriotic level, or in respect in WW2 manner, even if 'anime-tized'. The vessels themselves shall be treated more of an easteregg while possibly being needed with how simplified the AI shall be. May be needing to escort them around.

    [Unknown. Needing at least one unit to function first in the game before I worry about this....They would however spawn in the water related biomes if based on ships & air if they're aircrafts.]

    - Help Needed!:
    I'll obviously do what I can. Right now I'm leaving this open to recruit the interested while hoping to start off with the 2D-fying of the ship girls. I can't draw, nor can I code, yet shall over-look & tend to whatever I can. I guess this may never see the light because I can't code in Lua, yet can tend to the actual concept itself. Nobody else is going to do it so I want to push it into the realm of plausibility when the game finally matures.

    • Artist: Someone who can draw humanoids while being very specific & detailed for the KanColle side of things. for the uniforms, weapon placements & such. I'll be doing such through HaremMate for characters while poorly sketching the equipment themselves. (May need NPC traders instead).
    • Coders: Someone to actually make this functional. I'll poke with the basics where I can, yet shall need someone actually knowing what they're doing. You'll also need to make the ships float & the shipgirls float for being humanoids on boat hulls to 'skate' on water.
    • Modders & Animators: I never had luck here. I'll need you to assist me, if any. This shall stall this mod the most. Basically for the weaponry, equipment, and even the actual ship vessels that seems to desired more.


    If any of you do join me then you have my highest thanks. If not, that's a real shame.

Reserving another posting because it's easy to hit the 10,000 character limit cap. 2nd & 3rd post reserved for images, information, & etc. That is if I can kick this mod off after the necessary update while working on the designs for each ship lady from now till throughout the possible modding. If I can gain a generous hand in modding then this shall move much quicker. Not expecting any help any time soon. Maybe late 2015 or sometimes in 2016. Any genuine help shall be highly appreciated.>

  • I kind of like this idea, and not just because I'm Canadian. I tend to be bad at helping with projects, but I can do some small help here and there. I assume you'd want 3D models: I can do that as well as programming (My LUA is nil and none, though). For lack of a better project right now, though, and to increase my 3D skills as a whole; I'll model a ship for you. I'll attempt the HMCS Ontario first (Because I live in Ontario. Huzzah!), here's hoping I can find enough detailed pictures to make it good enough though. Estimated elapsed time can vary so I can't say when it'd be done.

  • Sweet! Well, I'd design them first in 2D then we can try nudging it into 3D? I myself shall end up using HaremMate (even if +18 perverted) for the character customization while possibly sketching out the turrets and such to place. HaremMate would be something to step up on in design hmm....

    Have any styles in mind? Both the maple leaf emblem & the Trillium would have to be found on her uniform and possibly the hat. I would vote on going for Tenryuu & Katori's size with Katori's styled uniform hmm. Even the Agano classes seem like a good inspiration point. All those weaponry.Image 3, 4 & 6 being interesting for the uniform of choices in the attachments.

  • I'm confused by your post now. At first I thought I was just doing a boat as a whole, but looking at the kancolle stuff I think I understand that you want the guns and things as part of a getup/outfit? The whole idea was a bit confusing to understand in the first place. I've not done a proper human from scratch yet, but props are a cinch.

  • I assumed such, yet also assumed you wanted to help with the KanColle spin-off by assisting in adding the RCN as ship girls. I did say "ship girls" in first post, but I guess I didn't stress it out as needed. Need to edit my first post again. :/ I also apologies with my wording with it tending to sound like crap at times. Edited the first post slightly to try and have the 'proper' wording this time around.


    I'm wanting to design actual ship girls (humans with turrets while wearing uniforms on them) while making use of the resources I posted in the first posting & the above posting. Basically giving the actual ships a human female appearance with miniature ship parts & weaponry on them. That's something I'm wanting to do through HaremMate for character + sketching weapons on paper in designing them while trying to merge both together to 3D model up to be done by either you (since you volunteered) and/or a fellow anime hobbiest in another community. Outside input on that being welcomed, just as long as it's from a fellow Canadian.


    Actual Ship -> As I assumed, you wanted to design the actual ship. I do want to see Rising World with an actual WW2 vessels (both actual ship & in KanColle shipgirl) form so that's something we could poke around, if you so desire, with me being just as happy to have them in. Both the actual ship & ship girl form. I'd expect the actual progress of this mod to be made in 2016 with me simply focused on designs of these ship girls + waiting up on Rising World to update & my issues to be fixed. I want it mainly to be about that KanColle spin-off, but I guess it (the actual ships) is something we can play with on the side when water is finally added into the game.


    What's your say? I'd assume that making the actual ship would be much easier, but I'd also eventually need to make the Animefied ship girls for this mod's purpose. Do what you want while taking as much time as you need seeing as how I need the biome + water update in this game to even try adding them in. I'm taking my time on my end to carefully design them in the Animefied manner until Rising World is fully ready for these lovely ladies, and possibly actual vessels.

  • Sounds good. I think from there I'd have to find a way to make use of Red51's NPC Trader idea by using them, bringing them out, then back in with the modded equipment to make them usable as their own little thing. Adding your modded miniature equipment onto them somehow.... Even having vessels to go along it would be sweet as a little side addition. I guess I can justify it by joining them on attack sorties to command, assist, and loot from the dead 'corpses/wrecks' type stuff because their AI wouldn't be that complex in the RTS or Rimworld manner to harvest & such. Always needing to 'babysit' them.


    I guess if you stick around long enough I'd love to see you commanding the HMCS Ontario while I'd command HMCS Haida. Would be interesting when on the other side of this. Seeing as how this is 'original' on the RCN, I'm curious about how to treat the enemy. That I can probably give freedom to whom ever wants to design such.


    (Guess I'm dealing with the ladies & you're dealing with ships & equipment. That's fine.)

  • Alright, to add onto the first 2 posts (which I also 'cleaned' up to clarify points) here is another posting showing a bit of what I'm aiming for in this mod. This posting should 'hopefully' clarify where I'm trying to go with this mod idea while also trying to pay my respects to the RCN of WW2 in an Animefied manner, and other people's more actual ship vessel manner. Again, I understand if this comes out weird for those not into Anime, possibly even scaring people away some more.


    I had to use HaremMate's character creation to give female appearances to HMCS Prince Robert, HMCS Prince Henry, & HMCS Prince David because I can't draw humanoids. Had to use HM because I can't draw to save my life, yet the head portion being what matters most here. I'm also assuming that I'll end up using Red51's NPC Traders in the end when all else fails while trying to get same or similar hairstyle in there. If I get lucky someone shall simply model up & texutre what needs to be done in finer & more appropriate detailing....


    No uniform or weaponry yet because I'm still trying to make sure it reflects their service.....I'll most likely have to give them nicknames on the girl-sounding side of things.

    - RCN - KanColle Side - The Three Princes:


    [The hairstyle of these three 'Princes' being the same in dark brown colour while being roughly of the same length. I pictured these trio to have proud elegant flowing hair, if at a more 'manageable' level by tying up some. These ladies may end up having to follow Rising World's character customization rules so eyes shall be more in RW style.]


    - HMCS Prince Robert - [AMC/AA]:
    Gave her a 'clean' hair-style with twin pony-tails because of her known 'serious' & obedience. All the 'convicts' made to obey overly strict rules while fighting & serving proudly. She happily captured a German merchant vessel 'Weser' in & around Peru. She'll find herself wearing a German pin on her uniform to reflect the capture of 'Weser'. A proud ship girl having served in the Atlantic, more so in the Pacific.


    - HMCS Prince Henry - [AMC/ISC]:
    Gave Henry a more KanColle 'Naka' vibe to her. A more upbeat, yet still more 'silent' personality. Not much to note, except that she rescued survivors from Haiti area.


    - HMCS Prince David - [AMC/ISC] -
    Similar to Robert in seriousness, yet more 'saucy' in personality. She cautiously & intelligently stalked a few German vessels causing one to burn & another to vainly be scuttled when trying to rescue it. She also was featured in a war movie "Commandos Strike At Dawn" which could possibly be seen in her appearance. Lastly, her front hair bit should reflect her 'buoy' incident when she let one out to navigate the brutal Alaskian waters with another ship blasting it to bits assuming it was an enemy submarine's periscope.

    Well....I'm still going to believe that if this RCN mod does gain modding ground then I'd consider that a miracle. Hoping for helping hands & support with this. I'll say again that I'll of course accept actual RCN vessels from WW2 to be added, but treated as eastereggs. With the way RW's AI works would require you to sortie with them to accomplish anything.
