    Hi everyone,

About advanced technology in Rising World.

Personally I think it unlikely a lone person could develop really advanced technology.

My suggestion is when a player finds precious items like gold bars or gems they set up a trading flag in the edge of the ocean.

After a small delay they find a trader's ship moored near their flag.

The trader would sell things like refrigeration units, advanced electronics and medical drugs.

Each trader would have different requirements of goods for payment.

    A random number could generate three types of traders;

Outright pirates that you would have to defeat to gain goods or lose everything except your underclothes!

( Alternative, you defeat the pirates but find no goods instead weapons, gold bars, gems you can use with a honest trader. )

Semi honest traders that are part pirate. If the player has good armament they do an honest trade otherwise they rip the player off.

Honest traders that give you a good deal.

My thoughts on railways in Rising World.

Now mine tracks and hand pushed ore carts will be relatively easy to implement.

In the past I've used the Trainz series of railway simulators, there is a heck of a lot of work in producing a full railway simulator, at a guess as much work as Red51 has already put into the new version of Rising World.

I suspect in Rising World, specially in multiplayer each railway track will only be allowed one train on it at a time. To set up train control so jerks can't cause multiple train collisions will not be easy.

Unless Red51 can pull off a miracle I can't see Rising World handle high speed trains?

I have used a Trainz route with a Mag-Lev train. Outside the cities where there is a speed limit the scenery is just flat green terrain with no clutter, vegetation and only the odd dirt road and some very limited objects.

With the amount of detail in Rising World that is created on the fly train speeds will have to be kept down.

The only way I can see high speed trains in Rising World is trains in underground tunnels. There is a number of ways tricks can be used to make it appear a train is going through a tunnel at high speed.

With the upcoming release of blueprints in the Unity version of Rising World would it be possible to create a special class of blueprints?

Assuming that the equivalent of the ruined shacks in the Java version is included in the Unity version.

That in the Creative mode a template will be available that is the same size as the base of the buildings that the game inserts in the world. ( Hopefully there will be more than one size? )

So the Creator can add or build their own structures inside the template. It may be possible to also insert a generator that will create a animal or NPC?

When the user saves that type of blueprint it goes into a special folder so when creating a world the user can select which buildings should be randomly inserted in the world.

If on the Rising World website there is a subfolder in the blueprints section people can download their creations for other people to use in their worlds.

Another thought, would it be possible to have a cauldron over a fire and when the player clicks on the large spoon leaning against the cauldron they taste the brew.

And suffer a random effect, could be beneficial like boosting their health, strength or speed up their reaction time for a period.

Or else they could suffer a negative effect like poison and would have to keep eating to stay alive till it wears off.

Maybe shrink the player's character size to a quarter of its normal size for some minutes.

Give them the hiccups so they jump slightly each time they have a hiccup, get them drunk.

Another thought, the food in the cauldron could be that spicy that the player breathes fire for half a minute!

    Hi everyone,

a slightly different look at this subject.

A while ago I made a paintball type battleground for two grandsons to fight on.

    ( Yes I have two legal copies of Rising World because of the formula;

two brats+ one copy of game= trouble!

Before I turned them loose I backed up the world folder of the battleground, when I went to reload the save it didn't work. I since found out I also had to back up the battleground in the map folder.

Well my idea is to have the option while in creative to set the world to 'Read Only' mode and when some one goes to play it in survival a one session copy of the world is made.

That way the next time that world is run all the damage is repaired.

He, he, a little undocumented feature I have discovered.

After exploring for a while I stopped for a real-life meal.

Afterwards my character's drink icon was red.

I change the weather to 'snow' then started up my second computer to go on the forum. I have just looked over at my main system and my character's drink icon is now bright green!

The poor character must be sticking out his tongue to catch snowflakes and his tongue and mouth must be frozen by now! :drooling:

Hi Every one here are my thoughts on Rising World.

In the Java version the player's characters just appears in the world.

My vision of how the game starts is the player's character is in the basket of a hot air balloon, the pilot
of the hot air balloon leans over the side of the basket to adjust the mooring rope and accidentally releases it and falls out of the
basket and the balloon rises and gets caught in an updraught.

Now I realise Red51 is as busy as one arm wallpaper installer and cannot afford the time or money to create a introduction video for now.

My suggestion is the game starts with a newspaper page reporting on the disaster and that the player's character is lost and grave fears are held for their safety.

( Make it so the text file for the story can be replaced by the server operator )

The newspaper page turns black then the current Java character waking up animation replaces the black indicating the character has regained consciousness.

    My thoughts on the dungeons.

I am not a fan of skeletons and I think unless you go to the full magic universe they are not appropriate.

Now I do not know if Red51 now has access to animated character creation that isn't extremely expensive?

I would like to see dwarfs in the dungeons, you could set it so they ignore you until you open a chest then its all out war!

Another option is to have cultists in the dungeons led by Priestesses in fancy robes.

( The cultist leaders would be using fake magic to suck in the underlings )

Another cheap option would be to have cave animals ( it should be possible to alter the colours of existing bears, tigers et cetera? )

    Advanced technology.

Personally I think it unlikely a lone person could develop really advanced technology.

My suggestion is when the player character reaches a certain level of technology they have to find a trader's ship moored at the edge of their current island.

The trader would sell things like refrigeration units, advanced electronics and medical drugs.

Each trader would have different requirements of goods for payment.

You could have semi honest traders and ones that are part pirate.

The player would have to decide between paying exorbitant amounts of goods for the items they need or fight
    the trader and his thugs?
