Ive always felt that only eating straight plants or meat was a bit weird so i'd suggest there will be a functional stove and oven to use veggies and/or meat to cook recipes youve found in those ruined cabins

As it stands, rabbits, goats, sheep and penguins do not offer any meat, but sheep and goats do offer pelts which can be tanned into leather and sheep will sometimes give these you wool as well as a pelt. I imagine that as the game progresses each animal will offer something unique to them and I think that rabbit pelt and meat are coming soon
