Cave with water idea/suggestion

I found 2 bodies of water with large area between. I mined between them and connected them. Smooth out edges and thought it be good tunnel or cave with water in it. thought it could be underground for the caves update. This is above ground. Still need to play with few other ideas, like trying to make a waterfall or would it fill a hole.
