Curious

  • We can travel north to the arctic and south to the desert and a map generates for those regions.

I wanted to create a bit of land to make a building area rather than creating on a separate seed. So I headed west off the map raised the seabed to make a 300 x 300m parcel of land. However I couldn't see myself to create a marker.

Does the map eventually populate my new bit of land?

Also, on the main map I dug a channel between 2 lakes to make a river and discovered various animals drowning.

Will they continue to spawn to a watery death or will they start to spawn elsewhere?

    Thankyou

  • They are good swimmers I also carved out some land and got a bunch of pigs floating. Animal wrangling is on the todo list but who knows if it will work in water. Chickens you can already pick up.

I did not try killing them not sure if you can cut them up into bacon out at sea.

I need to check my map see if it has my terraforming on it.

  • no, they will not populate your new land.

Animal spawning is connected to the biome type. If its ocean they will not spawn.

However you can use a console command. Or make a bridge and hope they will wander off to your new land.

They will therefore also keep spawning in the regular biome, wander off and drown
