    Hello Rising World Team,

I’ve been experiencing repeated crashes while playing Rising World, and I attached logs and system info to help with troubleshooting.

    System Specs:

    • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU

    • Driver: 32.0.15.8129 (latest as of Sept 2025)

    • Windows 11 (Build 26100.5074)

    Crash Details:

    • The game consistently crashes shortly after loading into the world.

    • This happens even with low graphics settings.Player.logPlayer.logPlayer-prev.logCrash_2025-09-26_082906919.zip

    • I tested different Tdr settings in the registry (TdrLevel = 0, 3, TdrDelay = 10). The crash still occurs.

    • I also disabled overlays (Steam, NVIDIA, Discord) — crash still occurs.

    Error Pattern in Logs:

    • Repeated Direct3D allocation errors before the crash:

      Code
      d3d11: failed to create staging 2D texture w=1 h=64 d3dfmt=10 [887a0005]
      D3D11: Failed to create RenderTexture (1920 x 1080 fmt 19 aa 1), error 0x887a0005
    • Eventually, the game crashes with:

      DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED

    • Crash dumps show the faulting module as UnityPlayer.dll with INVALID_POINTER_READ_c0000005.

    Steps already tried:

    • Full clean reinstall of NVIDIA drivers with DDU.

    • Testing Vulkan launch option (-force-vulkan).

    • Lowering graphics to minimum.

    • Disabling all overlays.

    • Adding Rising World to Windows Defender exclusions.

    Request:

Could you please confirm if this is a known issue with Unity’s Direct3D 11 renderer in Rising World? Is there a patch or workaround planned for RTX 30–series GPUs?

I can provide Player.log, error.log, and crash dumps (attached).

Thank you for your time and support!

    Best regards,

    Sajith

  • I'm sorry to hear about the crashes :/ Unfortunately there are currently a few NVIDIA users facing similar crashes. It only affects NVIDIA cards (but only some NVIDIA users are affected at all)... some users managed to fix it by updating (or downgrading) to a different driver. It's hard to tell if it's rather a driver bug (triggered under certain circumstances only) or a Unity bug... probably it's a mix of both. But you're definitely not the only one who runs into this issue.

We're updating to the latest engine version with the next update, hopefully this improves the situation. But if you still run into this issue after the update, please let me know! Sorry for not having more positive news atm :(

  • There has been much complaint about how badly Nvidia has screwed up their drivers to get 50x0 stable at the cost of prior generation stability. The last stable one for 4070 was last december is the general consensus. So advice to use latest drivers is usually not best when it comes to Nvidia.
