Arctic Weather/ other issues

A new update is now available, introducing "Points of interest" and many more changes!
Latest hotfix: 0.9 (2025-11-04)
  • This round of game play I making bases on each island and using blue prints. I was making green house for arctic biome. I got a few issues. Blue print placement went all weird and had half to other strange measurements which made placement out of line and snapped weird. I was trying to lay blocks for the green house. 1x1x5 (tall and skinny), first had then snapped off blueprints. First they went straight and angle down ward into the ground, use pick to clear some dirt. I placed the block and next thing happen was standing still as I look to be falling through ground. I moved out left or right and went back to normal. Once I flatten ground with rake, all was good.

Weather really got me confused in the arctic. First time I went to arctic zone, Clothes got me to 37F temp and other times even colder. Have not changed seasons. Now that I have better clothes. during the day building my green house, my person was cooking. Had winter coat, Levi jeans, fur boots, and Russia hat. My temp outside in the arctic was 121F to 134F which I was burning through water pretty fast. I checked F3 for for temp and it said it was 55F for arctic/snow biome. It is still spring time from the calendar. Had to switch to forest gear during the day then froze when night fall came. With the winter clothes on, got cold when heavy snow came along at night then few days later, was cooking from warm temp, that was confusing.

Every time I got to arctic island and back to forest island, wind is always blowing in the opposite direction. Having 50% or less wind strength was annoying. Sailing from forest to desert, both ways the wind was good and strong.

  • Just a few words from my experience. Try playing around with ENTER and G (grid lines on/off), in many occasions it did a drastic changes for me in placing blocks and blueprints.

Weather is in Celsius, and yes it's mixed in the arctic. During the day sometimes spring clothes are enough, during the night needs winter clothing. And the seasons don't play any part in the arctic and neither in the desert. And if you go in a cave, there will be warmer and spring clothes are enough even when blizzard is outside.

For the traveling, I recommend building the inflatable boat.
