Way too long to break blocks

Probably someone has already mentioned this, but the time to break blocks after they're put down is too long! This discourages creativity or trying out options IMO.

OK so I saw that woodblocks can be broken faster with a pickaxe. Just figured to use the axe for wood, pickaxe for stone etc. I am really enjoying the game even though only been playing 30 minutes!!
