Game opens in task manager but never loads.

The official Rising World Soundtrack is available!
You can also get the Soundtrack on Steam
  • Hello,

I am posting because I searched the forums here and did not find a fix for my exact issue. I tried the troubleshooting guide but it did not help. I was able to finally get the game to give me an errorlog so I can now post my issue to the forums. Currently when I open it either through the steam app or by going to the folder itself and opening the application the game will display a command prompt window for half a second then do nothing and sit in task manager utilizing 27mb and no cpu or hard drive. I have tried running as admin, making my gpu accept the game.exe and java.exe through nvidia control panel, and even reinstalled the game. Nothing has yet fixed this issue. Here is the errorlog

Any help is appreciated and if i missed a thread that answers this then i apologize.

  • [...]
    Unable to establish loopback connection
    [...]
    Permission denied: connect

This indicates that the game was unable to establish a loopback connection (i.e. a connection to "localhost" or "127.0.0.1"). The reason was that it did not have the permission to "connect" to itself, which is most likely caused by a firewall or antivirus program. What firewall/antivirus program do you use exactly?
Please try to add the "risingworldx64.exe" in your game directory steam/steamapps/common/Rising World as well as the "java.exe" in the java subfolder steam/steamapps/common/Rising World/java/bin to the exception list of your firewall and antivirus program and try to run the game again.

  • I am currently using Comodo I will try this and give an update tomorrow.

  • I tried the fix and disabled the loop back filter in comodo (just open comodos advanced settings and go to the firewall menu and it is one of the options on the right half of the screen.) The game works flawlessly and I am having tons of fun in it. Nearly died to a goat 12 seconds in, I was not prepared for that.
I have to ask why unlike minecraft does this game utilize so little ram? Does it actually utilize my graphics cards vram?

  • I'm happy to hear it works now :)
About the RAM: When starting the game, it allocates a specific amount of memory (depending on your OS [32 or 64 bit] and your total amount of RAM). About the VRAM, the game requires ~ 1 GB VRAM. Some programs (e.g. "Process Explorer") can show you how much VRAM is actually in use ;)

  • Alright Thanks for the quick responses and the game is awesome. (just spent 20 mins playing a piano in the game).
