it is not letting put fuel in the furnace, try what the video showed but no luck... not giving me door access to put lumber or coal in it.. what can be done to fix this problem just bought the game today?

Do you access the side door/hatch? Not the hatch on the back (this one does not work). When looking at the small hatch, your crosshair will turn into a chest icon. Pressing your interaction key (by default key F) opens the hatch, now you can place coal or lumber in it (hold it in your hand while looking at the hatch/hole, then press the secondary mouse button).
