Alt + tab back to desktop or browser can crash the client.
When this occurs, the process remains active and the memory in use stays allocated to the risingworld application.
Manually ending this does not work, 'access denied' error occurs.
Only way to clear the memory is to restart the OS.
Alt+tab while the game runs in fullscreen is still awkward in certain situations 
I'd recommend to try this: Go to your graphics settings, disable fullscreen (!), adapt the resolution to your desktop resolution and check the "Undecorated" box, then save the changes. This provides an alternative fullscreen mode, which works much better
