Could it be possible to create a transition between new and rotting corpses?
Something like a slow decay, with 5 phases (textures) of decomposition, it would be interesting.
After a few weeks the corpse would become a skeleton and we could put the bones in a trunk and bury.
A legitimate graveyard.

If we have decomposing bodies we have to have coffins as well. And we should have different designs, from cheap pine box to engraved oak.

I think not.
The "transition" would be made with textures, and in the end the body is replaced by a skeleton. I believe it is an interesting and simple cosmetic element. -
It will lead to more matters (alteration of nature // sewage works / spoilage, wearing down of things/ ...). red51 codes it mostly as a whole thing. I think it is not the time for that now. But it should be in the game.
