I definitely like this idea (lava tubes as well as basalt around the tubes as well as gems that can be found inside the tubes)

This is why Red is the coolest Dev ever. Really looking forward to seeing this in game.

This sounds really cool.....or hot..........I would love to see this in the game, add in some geode formations around the tubes as well as the crystal caverns and maybe the gems could only be found inside the tubes?

We all know when the mods come at least 1 will contain zombies. Hopefully they use the old bald guy to do it. Show some roots. With that in mind maybe we could get some zombie bears down there with the dogs. Hell zombie animals in general or maybe some skeletal chickens and a killer rabbit with a vicious streak a mile long........

The way most crystal works is with a base of quartz as impurities are added you get the color change. Beryl is the source of Emeralds rubies and sapphires. If Rising world used the Temperature of hotter towards hell they could also use the various chemical changes that make up various crystals I think its citrine that starts as amethyst until heated both members of the quartz family would love to see the gems use things like near water, near metal etc to change what they are. Also in the surreal option you find the large spikes of stone that look similar to crystal clusters with a bit of tweaking I'm sure they could be produced on demand.

If a spoil feature was added to picked vegetables and meat I could see that being useful to say dropping things in a compost heap would keep them away from other storage devices, as would having an out door trash can of some kind. A way of feeding them afar to keep them from coming indoors that and a cat to eat them up if they get to close.

I myself am really looking forward to adding in custom models an easy to use API would be just the thing however from a developers point of view you could also easily lose control of your creation. If you had similar features in mind to what some one else beat you to doing for example everyone gets use to the modded way and your way no matter how insightful comes out as awkward and unusual because the player is already predisposed towards something else.
At the same time I really would like an API to add in various cultural behaviors to say Bandits as they are confirmed as well as races in general just so I can have Goblin minions.

Excellent idea. You missed one important use for papyrus and that is as a food source. The bottom half is wet and softer than the top so its not useful for crafting but can be eaten. Anyways, papryus, along with other versatile plants such as bamboo and hemp, would be useful for lots of basic crafting needs in a survival game mode where you start out with absolutely nothing. Hemp can be found in grassy fields and occasionally bamboo plants. Papyra lining rivers and lakes in the desert biome would seem very appropriate. Now that water is coming, it would be nice to see the papyra

These three plants where some of the most highly useful during the founding of what we know as early civilization. The Egyptians wouldn't have had near the influence they did on the Nile with out papyrus. Hemp ropes where vital to sails and and rigging. Bamboo was vital to the maritime endeavors in Asia. With water coming I don't really think we could have ships with out them certainly not portray the cultures that where the foundation of civilization as we know it. Really hope Red adds them.

@zfoxfire Only room for one spoony bard in my world and thats me :)

@ArcticuKitsu I'm sure Red will work to make as many of our suggestions come true as he can with out mods but I can also see we have enough talented players to make mods of anything he can't get to. Hoping Red even adds in the best mods as a part of the end product if Rising World ever goes to other platforms.

Wow! That sounds like a great set up for the villages. As for the entertainment area I would add in theaters or at least music halls. If combined with a preset for cultures one could have an old west style town or a medieval village or go for a modern setting as well. Really hope Red implements this idea in the future.

Orichlacum was said to be an ancient metal of the Atlantians and modern scholars believe its an alloy similar to bronze. Its used as a magical metal in many fantasy games. Which angle Red will take with it is purely speculation but personally I hope he goes with an indestructible thing like Adamantite never heard of Javanium.

LOL for me it's the opposite, started out with programming BASIC on the Playstation2 and got hooked to more programming ever since!

I tried 3D modeling first attempt was making a car mod from scratch with a video tutorial and i gave up after few minutes, second attempt was to modify an already made model and that didn't end well either lol.
Maybe it depends on what program you use for modelling cause i honestly got frustrated. i used Zmodeler ( not sure if it even still exists )
I really never understood all those buttons and what certain modeling terms meant...

But with programming if you're new to it, everything is well documented its all clear and an example helps a looong way into what you want to accomplish

My go to is Blender started back in 2000 and put in many hours of vids and text tutorials. Originally wanted to make games and got caught up in the models and animation side of things. Still want to make that game just know my place is design and concept instead of programming. Still waiting on computers to catch up with my concept though.

Having been a programmer for 35 years , I can tell you , It can be tedious or it can be fun depending on what you are doing. Some of my best fun was writing tiny assembler programs on the 6809 based color computer made by radio shack in the early 80's. I wrote a speech playback program is less then 100 Bytes of code in 6809 assembler. Now that was fun:)
Writing a 2 player Version of Family Feud on the Same machine in Basic was tedious. Now a days you would be sued for releasing something like that LOL :)

I think designing the graphics and the 3d models is a lot worse then writing the code that controls them. :)

As someone that makes 3d models and textures I think its easier then code, but I can barley code html on a good day let alone build a game. Looking forward to player generated models in game or at least providing some for mods.
