When/if that day comes, I would also love to be able to group objects (planks, beams) into structures, like trusses, door frames and so on, that could easily be replicated (if adequate materials are in the inventory).
We are able to do this using blueprints.

I'm partial to using white plaster. There is one with minimal texture that I use for trim and it's not too bad. Sorry, I can't recall the ID.
This would also make a nice decorative medallion for buildings. Very nice job, as usual. Thanks for sharing it.
I know there are work-arounds to make discs, but having a resizeable round with textures would be a very helpful addition to the construction system. Also, round windows would be great, too. Please and thank you. 
Maybe the inventory screen would say, for instance, meat, bone, hide, and gut. After "bone" it might say, "requires axe." Maybe the meat amount is not specified, but will always yield more with a knife than a sharp stone. This would be something we would learn.
Maybe we're saying the same thing here. I just wouldn't want to see a different inventory screen depending on what tool I was holding in my hand.
I think for primitive implements, we will definitely need some kind of rope or twine early on. I know hemp was mentioned earlier, but vines and gut can also be used. This will be useful in lashing, building traps, securing safe routes in steep terrain, mountains and ravines.
I really am not a fan of your description of seeing what we can salvaged from an animal carcass. It would be very unwieldy and annoying to have it use multiple tools just to see what's there. (If I understood this correctly.)

Since we're talking about wish lists, I would also love a Dutch door, where the top and bottom open independently. An oversized barn door would be nice, too.
The most useful door for me, though, is what Zfoxfire mentioned - an empty door frame that could be filled either with glass or a plank texture of our choice.
