A new update is now available, introducing fishing, climbing gear, clothes and more!
Latest hotfix: 0.8.5.3 (2025-05-09)

Hello everyone, this is a post that I didn't quite know which section to put in, so please excuse the inconvenience if it's in the wrong place.

I would like to discuss/suggest a few things that would be very useful for the game in the medium-term future.

First, talking about the most recent posts on Steam and the Forum.

    * I have a question and a suggestion about whether we'll ever actually see fish in the water. This comes from the new fishing update, which is very similar to the fishing mode in the Java version. It's not bad at all, but it would be nice to see live, tangible marine life in the water. It would add a lot of visual appeal to the game. Red said sharks and crocodiles are planned, so I wonder if we'll see fish in the water :)

    * Speaking of which, I'd like to know players' general opinions on seeing birds in the sky, whether they're birds or eagles, something that would add more dynamism to Rising World beyond the clouds and lighting. Personally, I've been looking forward to this inclusion since the JAVA version; I hope it can be implemented someday. It's the same with flying insects, but I think it could be more easily fixed with effects like those used in modern GTA SA mods or something similar (I remember flies in trash cans), which are just several PNG images moving simultaneously. This addition of visual FX would be greatly appreciated.

    * Regarding those same visual effects, I've constantly read many players talking about making the water more visually dynamic, whether it's to have more realistic rivers or even waterfalls. I'm very happy to know that we have dynamic (flowing) water in the game. I think it's been a huge leap forward for this new version; the effort to make water behave more complexly and realistically is greatly appreciated. I also think it's great that they're working on including waves for the water. Red has mentioned it several times, and I'm almost certain that working on improving the game's water has been one of the things that has taken the longest time as he continues to polish his project. That's why I emphasize water effects, and I even continue to suggest that water should be able to come in multiple colors (depending on whether it's freshwater, saltwater, or swamp water. I hope a "water/mud" type, basically liquid swamp mud, will be included in the future), or that we be allowed to color it just like we do with a brush on blocks. Ultimately, I think water is always a challenge for developers when creating video games. The quality of the water and vegetation really shows how much work has gone into the details of those games.

    * Another thing I've been wanting to mention for a while is whether at some point the game will allow us to paint with the brush on rocks, fallen logs and objects in general beyond the blocks, personally it would be very useful to me since I have built several huts and cabins using those rocks and logs (in creative mode).

    * I would like to request Red to include more types of rocks and logs for weird people like me who also use those materials to build and make blueprints xD. Personally I would settle for just adding new rocks but it would be great to have rocks of different types (such as basalt, obsidian, Tezontle [which is a rock similar to basalt, red, light and porous], I even risk and dare to ask that METEORITES BE INCLUDED IN THE GAME, which are generally made of iron) in the end this game, in addition to surviving, building and exploring, is about mining. Personally, I would appreciate it if we could use ALL the possible objects to build (rocks of all minerals, sticks and rods that we obtain by cutting trunks of recently cut trees, and even those trunks too). Come on, it would be great to be able to interact more with materials that are already in the game and for now only have a symbolic and visual role.

    * About being able to use these objects in the world and place them wherever we want, Red has said that it will be included soon. The truth is that this is the update I've been waiting for the most *-*

    * Now I'd like to take the opportunity to make a request for certain items that are being left behind in the game and I think are very important.

(Dynamic) Fabrics. Several times I've wanted to make market stalls or just put a curtain on a door or window, and while there's the option of using images with posters, it's not the same. We need to be able to use fabrics that move in the wind and when someone touches them. They can be used for tent roofs, flags, curtains, blankets, boat sails, tarps, etc.

Some somewhat basic vehicles. If I had to request new vehicles to be included, I'd really like to see more boats, primitive ones, personally. I'd like to see a genuine kayak or boats carved directly from tree trunks. We need more boats, lots of them XD. Another vehicle that would greatly help the current state of the game and that we've never had are horse-drawn carriages. Yeah, whether they're just cargo or passenger carriages. It would be wonderful to see them in this game.

Objects or effects that produce smoke, whether black, white, or gray. These are necessary to enhance the appearance of chimneys.

    * Something I think the game has been missing for a while is the inclusion of new textures; there are so many that are needed. We could have about 20 new textures in each new update :3

    * It would be a great visual aid to be able to use all the remains of a hunted animal. For example, horns, bones, hooves, teeth, and tusks. We could use these objects to place as decoration wherever we want. Maybe I'm going too far, but a collection of leaves (just leaves) from every tree and plant in the game would also be nice. XD

    * I think primitive objects, tools, clothing, and other items are being overlooked a lot lately. I'd like to see more of those kinds of tools; I know they exist, but compared to medieval and modern equipment... They're severely lacking! Several types of primitive weapons and tools are missing, such as slings, incense made from roots, leaves, or branches, poisonous blowguns, etc.

    * There are other things I'd like to ask if they'll be included soon, but they're more complex and I doubt they'll be a high priority: creating doors and movable objects (windows, bridges, etc.) based on our own builds. The same goes for vehicles. Just thinking about it makes me imagine all the possibilities...

My intention isn't to pressure or upset anyone; this is just a compilation of things I'd personally love to see in the game someday. Seeing its current state, I'm increasingly convinced that it can be done. n_n This isn't even remotely a letter to Santa Claus. Have a good game in your free time, friends.

But more fishes will be added over time.

I'm glad to hear that :) Will be Sharks?? XD'

That's definitely still in the works and will be added with one of the next updates :)

Great to know that now, that update are the one I be waiting more than others :P thanks for all

Only thing you can do atm is to use the renderworld console command - this renders the currently loaded world (depending on your view distance) from a top-down view and stores it as a screenshot on your hard drive.

I already try it, I'm done taking some captures via that method, all in high quality [I think 8000x8000] and too on normal quality [1000x1000, 2000x2000].

I'm fine with that but I had the trouble on zones where the world have a considerable amount of buildings or nature [trees, vegetation, etc].

I don't be able to cover all the zones where I am working that world [are focused I one BIG Zone].

What happens are... No matter if I use a low quality capture [1000x1000 per example], or a high quality shoot [8000x8000]... The game freezes on that work, and basically crashes [the CPU say the application still runs, but nothing happens). When that happens the only way my PC returns In control is closing my session.

Thanks for the update, I'm excited for try it and fishing some blobfishes XD. I'm impressed for the blobfishes addition, I am thinking even a humpback anglerfish are added, but no jeje.

The new waters, the salty and the fresh... Are different on color or visually?

This adding on the water are awesome for me, the game now are so detailed, in fact.

    Three questions :

When we have the ability to place all these items permanently on our worlds? Like to see my self made boxes filled with chillis and corns n_n

About again with the map... We have a satellital map like the Java version soon? I know now it's non priority but I miss that map a lot.

And, when we saw frogs and cocodriles? We need frogs! Lol. Sorry. Thank you again for the hard work.

Sorry, I've been having trouble with this for a while. When I try to put a terraprint this usually happens

I can't move it to the level I wish (the ground), it moves a long distance, moving 3 or more blocks (squares) in the grid.

As mentioned by CursedXistence , you can change the texture scale by right-clicking on the right texture (in the texture dialog) :)

Thanks, I don't know that are possible now XD. I'm trying and it works, thanks a lot for adding to the game.

Unfortunately the size isn't stored per item atm... however, you can just use the "Adapt to World Element" setting for that (by default it's the Insert key): Just hold the block in your hands and press that key, then it will automatically adapt the size^^

I know, thanks for the advice. I use that "copy block" key a lot. I mean more about also copying the texture size of that specific block (0.5, 1, 2, 4, etc.), in addition to the size and shape of the block of our interest.

If you want more control over the flying speed, you can go to the Miscellaneous game settings and change "Fly Mode Speed Control" to "Advanced Mode". Then when the flying mode is active, hold Shift and use your mouse wheel to change the flying speed :)

Oh god, this tool is beautiful. How could she not know that they had already included her? I tried it and it has been super useful to me. I mean, I had seen the option in the menus for "advanced flight mode", I just didn't know what that was about. Thank you very much, it has been super useful to me.

Any way to increase the speed to 500 or 600% via commands or the configuration file?

This is a bit tricky to implement... but if you want something like paintings on a cave or terrain, you could place a decal there. Maybe we'll add an option instead to paint a custom image instead of having to upload one (but implementing a useful painting editor will take some time, which is probably better put into other features first)^^

Thats sounds good. I just have the doubt, Im sure that the performance of the game would be super unstable... I know, only think about how easy be work reliefs or paint on terrains materials.

Thanks a lot for your feedback, I'm happy to hear you enjoy it :) Merry Christmas!

Thank you for your responses, sorry for two posts, I'm via android and it's complex wrote via phone. Happy holidays for you and your family too, and for all here :) happy new year!!

    Thanks for your reply red!

Thanks a lot for your feedback! :)

Yeah, unfortunately you can't have more pages atm... but we will add this with one of the next hotfixes :)

It would be indeed very useful, but it wouldn't play well with the text... text can't wrap around the image automatically, so it would be up to the player to format the text accordingly... I will think about adding that

I hope you can add that, there's two APP's from Play Store called "Fiinote" and "Time Planner" that let you insert images on texts on pages on a very easy way, test those APP's, I recommend that apps.

Right now plants don't die, so they will continue growing after winter. But we will most likely change that in a future update (but then there will be also an option to disable that) ^^

OK, I think I didn't make myself understood. I mean in my world I have put hundreds of trees and plants. Disable growth for all (0%) from the miscellaneous menu.

My question is: if I activate the seasons of this new update, will my plants and trees grow (and consequently change their size and shape) even if I have the plant and tree growth option disabled? Or will they just change color? I would like to see those changes, in color, but I don't want size changes and so on in my plants and trees because they were specifically placed.

Or is there or will there be an option that when placing a plant or tree one can choose the growth percentage of that specific plant? If the option does not exist, personally it would be very useful to me. It would be ideal to have 100% natural growth of the plants and trees in our world (wild, natural areas), but with the option of being able to independently choose how we want certain trees to grow specifically (urban areas).

Adding custom music tracks is problematic... in multiplayer, this requires us to sync it with other players, but this would cause a lot of trouble in terms of copyright (because most likey 99.99% of the music that is played would be copyright-protected music). I'd prefer to have a plugin for that instead.

But when it comes to sound effects, it's our intention to have a creative mode tool to place sound effects in the world. It wouldn't be custom sound effects though, but we will offer a lot of different sounds (nature sounds, city sounds, interior sounds, engines, machines etc) :D

I understand the copyright thing, it's so tedious concept. But there's a plugin for do that on the new version? I think not yet.

It's so sad read about we can add our tracks via vanilla game :( I want to play some aboriginal, native and primitive songs for bring a touch of immersion to my world.

Anyway, when you say about this posible tool for put sound fx on the creative mode... We'll, all I can say is THANKS! That would be a great add to the game, together with visual fx like smoke, haze, or breeze (for waterfalls maybe) make the game more customable.

Ideally this would be solved by the power system we want to add in the long run... but we'll think about that ^^

I see... And for the players who's world's are more oriented to medieval age, away from the electricity? Talking more of torches and campfires, etc.

Now yes, I thank you as I should Red, I didn't have time but we are already on vacation and there is time to test the new update well.

Thank you for continuing to make this great game bigger and bigger!

The boat sail thing was great. Also thank you very much for returning the JAVA drawbridge to the new version.

I also have the doubt if by activating the seasons of the year and I have deactivated the growth of trees and plants... Will that make the plants and trees grow again, or would they just change color?

I also have doubts about fishing: fish, frogs and birds in the game, will they exist?

In addition to the diary that I mentioned, there are some things and suggestions that I had planned to explain here (more like in the previous update post) but it will be for the next updates, let's hope.

My first suggestion, one that I have wanted to come here to comment on for a long time and I always forget... Please, in the future is there a way that we can put our own music (tracks, etc.) in a folder and have these songs and tracks can be played through the phonograph (or a new, more discreet object, such as a small modern wireless speaker)? My goal with that would be to put my own ambientation in certain areas and areas of the game. As if we are in an area with a lot of vegetation, we can put on our own sound effects of crickets, wind through trees, wolves, etc. Or music for certain interiors. The truth is that I was very encouraged to say this for a long time because it seems to me that no one has ever mentioned it in the forum and it is a great idea. The small speaker is to disguise the origin of that sound source.

Another suggestion I have is (to avoid APIs) that each light and torch that we place has an option in the radial menu of what time (in the game clock) it turns on or off. It would help the game a lot and I don't think performance will be compromised.

I have a suggestion for the F8 menu (Edit textures on already built blocks): Will there be any way to edit besides the textures... The scale of these? In addition to giving us the data on the scale sizes in those already built blocks?

And about that, when copying blocks as we always do, could the scale of these also be copied directly? You could put an option for this in the game's pause menu, under miscellaneous, just below the "copy block color" option.

My last suggestion that I consider important would be: put an option in the radial menu, which allows us to modify the speed of the player in creative mode (in flight, F4), something like what we see in moving and scaling the blocks (0.01, 0.10 , 0.25, etc... Up to x4 to save time at far distances, flying faster). Personally, slowing down the flight would be more useful to me when building small details, sometimes the game lags and that makes these types of edits more difficult for me.

I have other minor suggestions: someone mentioned the idea of painting in caves, terrain and blocks "freely" with the paintbrush, something like painting on canvas, that's a good idea... I had the idea of doing something similar but with a new tool: the chisel. We could remove material from a block to draw on it and make certain reliefs in much simpler and freer ways. Of course it would have a big impact on performance.

My last suggestion is bizarre XD: is there a way for trees to sweat tar? It would be interesting to have that type of materials.

Thank you very much for so much effort, I hope the official release of the game from the alpha is a success, I now have the time to dedicate a few good days to the game as it deserves. I will soon improve my profile, how can I quickly go from beginner to intermediate or more?

    Greetings to the entire community.

Great update as well! I notice that the journal in the custom notes can't add more than two pages, there's no button for "Next Page".

I don't know if this tool only work on that way or it's a bug.

Personally I like if we add our custom images in that custom notes section of journal, like the other sections of tutorials, in my case for building and organizing purposes.

Personally, I would like to see doors implemented that can open and close vertically, like the ones on this dam/dam:

Or this classic castle, with peaks, which no one has mentioned yet:

I think it would be very good for the game to integrate doors/bridges, which are widely used in castles or bridge passages, but they are not doors as such, they really need a sophisticated mechanism as seen in the second image. I mean, the classic drawbridges, like the one in the JAVA version, but with more options, no just one.

I would like, if they ever integrate these doors/bridges, for there to also be some with a more rudimentary/cavern/prehistoric style, something with ropes instead of chains, like this one:

P.S.: Yes, I'm hiding the desire I have for them to add to the game the ability to create things with hinges and sophisticated systems haha, but those doors and bridges are legal and can reach the game not so long term.

Well, I think a "liquid" texture is needed, even using it with the multi shape blocks.

A texture of the same type of the water in the game (texture that actually moves) could be great.

Would be great have the ability for painting that textures, for emulate blood, milk, honey, etc, etc; and the opacity of that colored texture.

I have tested the update and it is incredible, thank you for the dedication and time put into this Red.

I believed that the new blocks of terrain material could also be "painted" (with grasses or seagrass). Will that be possible?

I have a doubt if there is any chance of taking screenshots with the "renderworld" command with a higher image resolution? Something like 4K at least, or a way to choose the resolution in the config file or within the game menus (personally I'd love a resolution higher than 5000x5000)

The ship's flag is great, it opens the door to flags of all kinds as independent objects in this game, perhaps in the future... Curtains or similar objects that interact with the wind. I imagine something like this with the possibility of inserting images (like posters).

Thanks for the new wind mechanics on the ship, the effort in that part of the update is evident.

The map now works well, will there be a chance to save the markers with the height coordinate? So that teleportations are 100% accurate.

    Total thanks.

Hey, with the update of skeletons... we will have back the skulls?? Should be great, more if we have the option of put these objects in the world, like the Java version n.n
