The next update will be available on Wednesday, December 18, in the early evening (GMT+1).

This update will not yet replace the Java version, instead it is the actual content update. We'll provide more information about the transition together with the update.

I don't think floating island is a good idea because Rising world is suppose to be a realism game and I think the floating island would take out the realism of the game. Now the vehicle idea sounds awesome I would love to see airplanes in the game.

I disagree. Also the game has a hell layer, so that undoes some true sense of pure realism. It makes sense to add Floating Islands if you have a hell layer. To me there is a nice contrast between both of them.

well i liked how the movie Avatar handled floating islands. and i wouldnt say having floating islands completly takes away realism .... perhaps the islands can be made up of alot of iron .... and thier is some weird magnetic field stuff going on .... i mean realism is fun ... but a little Sci-fi never killed anyone ....

I agree with your sentiment. That would be a brilliant way of adding the Floating Islands while keeping some realism to them since the game is centered around that.

This is amazing. I know I have been excited for the biomes and water, but this is one of the things the game needed for people that just wanted to create things. I completely overlooked creative mode and the fact that it was released now I personally believe was a great time to do it. This will give people some time to mess around with things before the biomes comes out.

Also good job sneaking this one in. The merits in not reporting when an update is coming if effective. I found myself more excited when I saw that there was an update to Rising World and read what it was.

Yeah me too. But it is in alpha and only a handful of developers are working on this. I purchased a few other games on Steam recently so I might put this one down for a few months and come back when more things have been added. I'm really itching for biomes and water to be implemented

I am in the same boat. Not that much for me to do at the moment when I am dearly waiting for water and biomes. Luckily with the blueprint system I can make things and just wait to plop them down when the new stuff arrives, but until I see how water is going to work, I am holding off on anything related to that for the moment.

Ah, I understand a bit now. Thank you for the explanation red51. I did not take those points you mentioned in consideration and simply thought that it would make things a bit easier is all.

May I politely ask for a one or a few biome teasers if it isn't releasing soon? Just some teasers to keep the hype going? I'm genuinely curious now, more so after all the trolling rampages we had & such. We're heading into December soon with biomes still struggling and I can't pretend I'm not worried about biomes anymore.

This is a very good idea. People will have a better indication of progress and see why something is taking so long and what not. Also if red51 shows people what the problems he is having and why a certain thing isn't working properly (I.E Glitches, bugs, visual discrepancies) it will most certainly get people off his back alot more.

I hope that this is something that is added to all future updates so we have a good progress indicator.

Then there could be a way to go through a door or a portal to reach its own little area of just floating islands and that way we can not worry about a build limit.

I would love to have floating islands, but it depends on how realistic they are going to go with the game. But since they already have a hell I see no reason to have land in the sky.

In ARK: Survival Evolved there is a specific spot that I loved to create my main base at, but in order to get there I have to pass a swamp like area which have alot of snakes. Sometimes I can make a mad dash to the spot I want and get lucky, but most of the time I just get eaten. I would just make the absolute bare essentials of what I needed to create a spawn and slowly made my way up north until I got to the spot.

I think the way red51 is doing things is just fine. People are going to get excited/disappointing for one reason or another. With the announcements popping as they are I know when to look forward to something, and I especially appreciate it when something gets delayed and I am told about it.

Icons would work better for Rising World I think. A Beacon or beam seems more sci fi like. I was just throwing the idea out there to give an example of what could be done without killing the respawn for those who desire the challenge that makes up a survival game.

I dislike this because it 'simplifies' the game a hell of a lot. People complaining Minecraft sucks because they have to actually work for what they want, yet want everything simplified for various things. It bugs me, and it baffles me when people also kick 'challenges' out of a game. Filters for everything, + a spawn set for reviving where you died. Nah, I don't want this game to pamper & spoil people too much to the point it turns into Minecraft again.

Just set a camp or bed while treading cautiously around the land. I always make sure to plan before I wander out before I leave in these sorts of games.

Also, a map shall eventually pop in. Just gotta allow the game to mature a bit so make the most out of roads & Compasses. Even land markers that you build & such.

I agree with you. Part of the survival aspect of these type of games is to deal with your loss or trek back to claim what was lost. If someone needs to have a way to find their bodies, perhaps a beacon which shines brightly similar to mods in ARK: Survival Evolved could help as an addition, but I would make it optional for those who want a more immersive experience.
