I am a huge fan of music. I love it and usually go on with my day with earphones attached and music going. It is a integrated part of my life and I think that if I went deaf it would be the worst thing ever for me because of my love for music.
With that being said, I GREATLY appreciate the work that a composer does to provide a soundtrack to a game. It keeps me immersed and engaged. It brings forth a variety of emotions when played out to different things for specific reasons. The soundtrack for a game like Rising World is absolutely wonderful. With its open works and crafting/survival system the music that plays suits what is going on around you and because you are in the first person, it pulls you in as you visualize you as the character. It can be so simple to misplace a song or a sound that can totally ruin a moment and make it jarring. With this game, that is far from the case (with the exception of me despising the mining sound when rocks hit the ground, that 'dice rolling in a wood cup sound' that I discussed on my thread.)
A soundtrack for this game would be greatly wanted from my end and I would love to listen to even more and more music be implemented in the game. I also hope that there will be an option in the future to have a music box that you can set up at your spawn to play the lovely tunes at your leisure from the game. As a person that also indulges in Second Life alot, a universal way to share music could be nice, but I think it could ruin the experience of the game. There are just certain places I feel warrant Rising Worlds own music to give you whatever feelings you should have for that moment. Perhaps if you only play certain music when you are around a home or a spawn, but universally, I don't agree with so much.

With the style of the game that Rising World is, I don't personally think its a necessary feature nor will it affect my enjoyment of the game. That being said however, I can understand why people would want such a mode. A mode like that when properly done can add alot of replayability to a game...but if its poorly executed... it can drag on, be dull and repetitive.

I know it's a long ways off but I'm really looking forward to electricity and electrical circuits. Part if my job is working with complex circuits for door access controls and security. I am curious how in depth we will be able to get.
I am looking forward to it as well! While I wasn't the greatest at dinking around with such things in Minecraft, the possibilities you can do with that ability are amazing!
One of my favorite things to make was a secret entrance to an underground base using electrical means. I made the land pull apart and reveal a marble pathway with mini waterfalls off of the sides and a door that lead to a room based on the Castlevania save rooms. It took alot of work for me which could have done simply for other people, but it was super fun figuring it out!

For a first attempt, that is really damn good! It takes me FOREVER to construct something. It is a bane in these type of games for me. lol.

you mean downstairs or in the appartment
and do you mean what material i used it is some kind of wood do not really know which oneOn the first floor with all the workbenches and you look up. There is that multiple wooden plank looking ceiling. I think it looks very nice and wanted to know what material was used to get that, or how the effect was done if using multiple materials.
I am a sucker for a nice clean look. I have a big thing for wooden cabins and thought that it might look nice for some of the features in the cabin.
-
I really like the look of that ceiling. When playing today I couldn't find how to make it. Can you tell me how you did it?
-
Probably the ability to paint blocks and construction elements (including glass) will be the best solution for that. It's indeed planned, won't take too long, but first we have to do some changes to the way blocks are generated
Awesome! I find the painting method to be muuuuuch simpler than having to place individual blocks. You may have a theme in mind and start constructing it only to find out that the colors do not quite look as good as you imagined. Instead of taking down the blocks and reconstruction, just splash some paint and BAM. You are done.
Edit since I just thought of it: It is going to be possible to repaint water or in essence, dye the water? XD
-
I am hoping for this as well. More colors as more variety. I especially want it for glass so I can start constructing stained glass structures. In Minecraft a long time ago my favorite world was Castlevania inspired and I created this under ground stained glass cathedral with mini mosques to represent level warps that would lead to different sections of the world. To get there you had to go past the save point which I recreated from one of the games and put it behind a cascading waterfall. Since the cathedral lead underground above it was a lake that the waterfall fed into, so I lined the ceiling with glowstone, different colored blocks and glass so you could see the water when you looked up and the walls and stuff were white marble.

It's a nice idea Once our new playermodel is ready, we (necessarily) have to rework player controls, movement etc., basically it shouldn't be too much work to offer the ability to play as an animal instead. Maybe it would be suitable for a separate gamemode or something like that (at least it isn't planned to have this ability in the "default" game flow), who knows, we will definitely keep this idea in mind (but if we implement it, it will take some time until we can start working on it, in other words, it has a low priority atm)
At first I was a little iffy at the suggestion, sounding more like Goat Simulator in gameplay.. but when you state it as a separate game mode, that's kinda awesome. However my vision of the style with the way Rising World works, I see a bit more of Tokyo Jungle in there.
I played more hours of Tokyo Jungle than I care to admit including buying its DLC.... lol

also "Furniture of Differing styles"
You can already create your own custom furniture with planks and beams,
an aquarium for example is easily made with glass panels en maybe if you
like some beams. then throw in a potted plant and some tiny posters of
fish and you're done.it only needs water lol
Oh wow, I feel really dumb. I hadn't even thought about manually building one. While I would prefer to plunk down some live fish in a watery container, the posters is a great workaround for something of a similar look! Thanks!
First off, thanks for your suggestions! Always nice to hear that people care about sound!
- Location-based and richer ambiences are planned and will really come to the fore when the biomes are ready. In the long-term we'll add more echoes to the caves, likely when dungeons come to the game. We also plan to dampen nature sounds when you enter a building. When that will happen is unclear, but it is planned!
- Rain will come when weather is implemented.
- The mining sound effect is something that is on my to-do list. I don't like that sound either! There will be a new sound in one of the next updates. Good idea about different ores giving off different sound effects. We will see if and how we can do that.
Sound and music are things that are very important to me. They can easily help immerse you into a game or a moment and if the sound isn't right it can detract. Thank goodness the mining sound is going to change. It is so strange how something that seems so minuscule can drive a person crazy! Also thank you for replying and in your hard work with the game! It sounds like I have alot to look forward to in the way of sound.
To everyone else who posted about how much of my list is already on the planned features, I am aware of that. However just because something is planned doesn't mean all the details are worked out yet. With having my list like this I am able to type down the details of each part into what I personally think would be great aside from saying "Better sound" and leaving it at that. This gives a chance for the developers to see the subtext under a category of things I would like or things to be considerate of if that makes any sense.

I am taking a page from ArcticuKitsu's book and compiling all of my suggestions in one place. The point of this is to use it as a reference for new suggestions without me bombarding other threads or creating a new thread. Some of these words may have been taking from some other threads of replies I have said. The goal is to make this as descriptive and as easy to read for those who are interested as possible.

-Dynamic Building/Constructing-
I personally think what would make the game more appealing is if it's building system was a lot like Landmarks. Landmark had one of the richest and most versatile ways of building I have seen in a crafting game to date. You can do so much with the materials given to you to put them into all kinds of different shapes including water. This is the best example I can give for what I would wish the building would be like in the game.-Water formations/Water biomes-
Getting water formations and water biomes going is one of the things I am most excited for. The world doesn't just doesn't seem as lifelike without them. There is all this beauty and detail in the nature but we have no bodies of water to tie it in together. Waterfalls, lakes, oceans, creeks..etc. I would like all of these. Personally I adore water and things having to do with water. In building games, I often use water features to accent my buildings. So I am really really excited for this to the point where I am kinda waiting on playing the game as much until it is implemented.-Fishing-
Fishing would be one of those things that would be hard to see not be in a game like this. I love fishing in many other games, MMO's, RPG's, actual fishing games...etc. If Rising World had a fun fishing system, I would be really happy.
With this implemented I would also like there to be in depth ways of using fish and other gifts from water sources/sea.-New and different Sound Effects-
I would like nice sound effects for rain and audio ambiance depending on where you are. If you are in a dense forest you get that environmental sound, if you are in a cave things are more echoy and hallow sounding. Adding ambient sounds based on your location would add a real sense of submersion. Now to address something I have an issue with that is already in the game. I dislike the 'dropping dice in a cup' sound effect that happens when you mine. I don't feel any immediate gratification from mining, its just something I do to get the stuff I need. I would like to hear different clacks and clanks to make it feel like I am mining something substantial up. Perhaps different ore can give off different sound effects. That can happen down the line, but I really want the initial mining sound effect replaced as soon as possible first.-Rare animals/creatures killed for trophies-
I love the concept of the wall trophies that were introduced. I am hoping that with more animals that get released we can see them all be eventually turned into a display of some sort. That being said when I was thinking about it, I would love if there were some rare creatures randomly spawned out there that you could kill and display in some way either as a wall mount or taxidermy or some other form to show what an accomplishment it was to track down one of these beasts. With it implemented I think it would as some more depth to a hunting aspect of the game and make it feel really outdoors like which compliments the environment and the game.-High quality textures-
While some of the textures have improved there are others that clash when against a certain backgrounds. For example in some instances I find that certain textures with the trees against the grass textures can make the grass look not so good. I am hoping that the textures get upgraded to the levels that ARK Survival Evolved is able to provide.Edit: Part of this issue has been resolved for me with messing some graphical features. The textures look waaaay better for me than they did before.
-More threatening creatures-
As it stands, there is not much of a reason for me to build shelter to seek safety from the night or from much of anything. To get away from bears I can just haul up in a cave and be good until I get the equipment to take them on.-More wildlife-
Different animals/creatures depending on what biome/cave layer you are in. I want to see the world flourish with various inhabitants that can hinder or benefit you.-Able to create waypoints-
It can be frustrating to make something, explore and get lost. Waypoints would make this an awesome feature to find the things you created. If there are people that prefer the full immersive experience of being lost, make it just an option or a feature that they do not have to use.-Mounts-
Able to mount creatures and ride them.-Character Customization-
I know this is going to be coming in the future, but I am putting it here because I want it. lol-Furniture of Differing styles-
This can cover a variety of things, so I don't need to get detailed here, but one thing I would like to mention is a plethora of lighting options and designs. Also when water is implemented I would like an aquarium or the ability to house caught fish in glass containers.___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
I will add more as I think of it, and anything that is implemented into the game I will edit the thread to reflect that. -

The random seeds sound like extra fun and adds some realistic features to the idea. However, the important part is to make sure they spawn reasonably and not be too obnoxious.
Sound effects are a must! I am not very keen on the sound effect that is made when mining through stone so I hope that gets changed, and the type of ore depends on the type of metallic klinks and thunks.
-
I think I know what you are saying. In minecraft, I think it was a mod...can't remember since its been a while since I touched that game.. but they had a wand tool that essentially did the same thing. While it was neat and VERY helpful when terraforming large structures and landscapes, some considered it to be a bit too much of a drawback from the game. In my opinion if you are already in creative mode with the blocks given to you, I see no big deal in its use.
-
The ship idea is very neat too. I like the link that you provided as an example ArcticuKitsu on the biggest one to make. It seems like a larger ship that is realistic to this game's design. It's not humongous and it ascetically feels in place with the game. Minecraft did the little boat thing which is cute and all, but I feel that this game could benefit from more ship like boats.
-
That is an awesome idea ozzyjimbob! Adding ambient sounds based on your location would add a real sense of submersion.

It would be interesting if you needed the right tool for the job to take structures apart (also for building). Otherwise you end up with near garbage, stuff like wood planks end up as kindling if you don't use a pry bar, stone blocks become small rocks and dust if you don't use a hammer and chisel for stone.. stuff like that. Just a thought.
That is a very neat idea, but I think it would end up with too much micromanaging in the end. Your inventory would be cluttered with such items unless there is a specific place for them that doesn't take up your basic inventory slots.
Unless you are working on a server without admin access you can get what you need through the command prompt in creative mode , that is why it is there , the game is still in alpha. So use your "Magic Wand"
I do understand that, but if I want to play the game all natural without the need of the magic wand, this would be something to consider in the future. As it was stated it is an alpha so I understand, I just want it to be implemented eventually.
