Connection error

  • In the night between Thuesday and Friday there was a problem with the Steam version. But we released a small bugfix that fixed the problem. Did your Steam client download the update?
Otherwise, please type "report" in your console, then open the file and either send the full text here, or tell me the checksum of the commons.jar file (this line, depends on your path: D:/Steam/steamapps/common/RisingWorld/data/commons.jar (743e49eb30288b028b4fbe38cb15d21a)).

What antivirus software do you use by the way? Maybe it received an update and now blocks the connection?

  • Yes, update should be installed and my Antivirus should not be the problem I think (disabled it but still does not wok).
    Here is the error log:

  • Thanks for the log! The checksum is fine, so you already have the latest files.
Maybe try to open the command prompt ([windowskey]+R, type cmd) and type "ping userhive.rising-world.net" (without quot. marks), and paste the output here ;)

  • Hmm everything is alright there ?( Is there nothing else that may block the connection?
Eventually you could try to open the config.properties file in your game directory and set "game_debug_console" to true. Then start the game, and once you've reached the main menu, copy the content of the white debug console window and paste it here (or at pastebin).

  • java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect

That's the problem... Something seems to be blocking the connection, what antivirus program do you use exactly (especially Kaspersky is known to cause trouble)? Is there maybe another firewall active?

  • AVG is known to cause trouble, but it is strange that the problem only occurs after the last update :| Only thing we've changed was the address of the HIVE (userhive.rising-world.net) and the port (6001).
Did you put the "risingworldx64.exe" (steam/steamapps/common/risingworld/risingworldx64.exe) and the "java.exe" (steam/steamapps/common/risingworld/java/bin/java.exe) on the exception list of AVG?

  • Eventually try to add it to the exceptions. Some users had problems at least with Kaspersky still blocking the connection even though it has been disabled, only adding the .exe's to the exception list worked ;)
Btw, what about the windows firewall? Is it active?
