And another thing! Seriously where is the custom material?

  • One more of what I'm sure will be ... enough suggestions. One that I have to believe, has to have been suggested countless times (though a cursory search produced nothing in the first few pages). A "custom building material" is sorely need. Or an "upload your own texture block". Just like the decal or poster but a block you can craft in any shape with any image (within reason) as the texture. With texture scaling. House otta hundred dollar bills yall!

    I'd love to be able to rotate the textures we have.. is there a way I'm missing? I like to make wainscoting and such and there's no good vertical grain wood textures but some of the horizontal ones would work great... if I can rotate the texture

    I wish, can't even count the amount of times I've placed down a bunch of blocks just to find out the texture is in the wrong direction.

  • We clearly need another way to rotate texture, but we already have a way to do that. For wood texture especially, I don't see the problem: You can just build with texture alignment set to "local" ("C" menu with a block in your hands). That works pretty well, you just need to remember that the wood fibers are aligned along the vertical axis to keep a right orientation.


    The issue is more to rotate a floor texture around the vertical axis when you have a building that is not aligned to the grid.
