Other craftable instruments could be an acoustic guitar or a harp and maybe a flute.

  • I think a simple shepherd's flute would be great, too—not to mention the other instruments.

But with the flute, you could really nicely integrate it into the existing, raw game world.

It could even have a specific function: you could find it or craft it. Playing the flute would attract sheep and goats; if they like the tune, they’ll follow you as a herd without needing a lead. If you stop playing, the sheep scatter again.

So, to get a herd of about 15 animals home, you’d have to keep playing continuously. I’d love that—it beats running back and forth 15 times with a lead.:saint:

Another function could simply be calling your mount to you.

  • I have to write about the flute again.

You could expand the whole concept into a fully interactive object.

You have a flute and play it; the snake becomes docile for a few seconds. During this time, you can safely put it into a snake basket. Once inside, you can place the basket—snake and all—wherever you like. If you are within sight and play the flute, the snake comes out and performs its dance. If you stop playing, it retreats back into the basket.

It’s essentially an interactive, living opject.:saint:
