Option To Disable Models For Lights

A new update (0.9.2) is available now!
Latest Hotfix: 0.9.2.1 (2026-05-13)
  • It would be aesthetically useful to disable visibilty for light source models because there are some instances where you would want to fake light emission from a Light Block Construction. I guess an invisble block would be used for raycast detection to access the light after disabling the model visibilty.

If I understand your question correctly, there’s already a solution for this, especially if you want to work with the light blocks (ID 800): You can place a light of your choice inside the light block (even scaled down to 0.1 or even 0.01), and it will shine through the 800 RGB block without you seeing the light source. This works, for example, with the lantern or the oval light.

You can also shrink a lamp down to 0.01, at which point it’s practically invisible - but I prefer to place them inside light blocks. You may need to switch to Creative mode (gm 1) to do this.

  • You can't access the lights properties without destroying the Light Block which is not ideal. And some instances you might want to do ring light block and have the light source at the center, in which case having the model non visible whould be good.
