    Where did you extract the game? Some Windows configurations do not allow the game to create files on your Desktop, so the game is unable to download further game files.
    Please move the risingworld.exe (or the .jar) into a different folder (for example, C:\Rising World, or C:\Games\Rising World etc.), then try to run the game. Of course you can create a shortcut to the game on your Desktop then ;)

    if you have a secondary graphics card please assign it manually to the game

    Open the "nvidia Control Center" if you have it, and go to "3d settings". Go to the tab "program settings" and assign the nvidia card to the Rising World java.exe. Alternatively, go stay on "global settings" and change the prefered graphic card for all programms to the nvidia one.

    The Mobile Intel 4 express chipset is unfortunately not supported by the game. Minimum requirement is an Intel HD 4000 Graphics adapter.

    Of course this only applies if you have a secondary, dedicated graphics card (Nvidia or ATI/AMD). If it's an ATI/AMD card, you find the particular settings in your Catalyst Control center.
