Dropped Item Despawn?

    I haven't messed with it at all, but if you drop an item on the ground, say a knife, will it despawn after a certain amount of time or moving so far away? Or will it stay there? I ask because i was going to have a friend try a map I made and thought if i left some items around for him to find by chance, that it would be cool.

    Items like tools, ores and ingots will despawn after a certain amount of time.


    To keep stuff around you should use a chest, barrel or present(gift box) to put items inside of it.
    You can find these objects in the Sawbench dropdown to "Chests" for the chest and barrel.
    and dropdown to " Decoration" for the present.
