Okay, so I have no problem setting up a server.
The only problem I have is after I close the server, then try to run it again, the world and server
loads fine, but at the end I get an API error? Why?
API error when trying to load server the second time!

When you get an API error, the server either can't communicate with the HIVE server, or - more likely - the http port of your server is blocked. You have to make sure that the http port (serverport-1, so by default it's port 4254) is forwarded in your router
-
I have the ports: 4253 and 4259 in my router.
-
The port setup looks fine, as long as "192.168.1.100" is your local ip (or more specifically, the ip of the computer the RW server is running on).
But keep in mind that port forwarding does not work if you don't have a "real" IPv4 address. Some ISP (especially when you have cable internet) use "Dual Stack Lite", in this case port forwarding is not possible on your end.
Here you can find out if your port is forwarded: http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/
Alternatively you can enter your internet ip into your browser address line, followed by a ":4254" (e.g. if your ip is 34.35.36.37, you have to enter "34.35.36.37:4254"). Make sure that the RW server is running. If the http port is accessible from outside, you should see some information about your server in your browser. -
Thanks allot red!

Now, I'm off the cable and when I run the server, and it works find and no API error but when I try to connect in the game, it says "can not connect to server"
-
Question, if I were to use the cable, would I have to disable the port forwarding?
-
I'm off the cable and when I run the server
I'm afraid there is a misunderstanding: When talking about "cable internet", it has nothing to do with how you connect your computer to the internet (using a cable or wlan), I was more referring to this (in contrary to DSL): Cable Internet access -
I'm just wondering what exactly I have to do to fix the problem with running my server. I really want to run a server.
