Random In Game Crashes

  • Hi,
    I'm getting random in game crashes. It says that the crash happened because of an outdated video driver, yet Ive installed the newest one available. Any help with this would be appreciated.

  • Unfortunately the Radeon HD 4000 series is not supported (or actually I'd prefer to use the term "the Radeon HD 4000 does not support Rising World"). AMD stopped supporting these graphics cards in 2013 (so the latest driver which is available is dated on 2013).
    The old AMD drivers had severe problems with OpenGL, resulting in various crashes. AMD fixed these issues in more recent drivers though, but they never made these changes available for the Radeon HD 4000 series (same situation for the Radeon HD 3000 and 2000 series).
    It's a pity, especially since this graphics card is basically capable of running the game (in terms of performance). Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it (so we put a warning on the storepage about the Radeon HD 4000, 3000 and 2000 some time ago).     But afaik you had an Intel HD 4400 some time ago, or am I wrong? The 4400 should be able to run the game with latest drivers (unfortunately Intel's OpenGL support was even worse in the past [although in all fairness the integrated Intel HD adapters were mainly designed for office and multimedia purposes], but newer drivers should be available), and in terms of performance, it should match the performance of a Radeon HD 4600 series ;)

  • Ok fair enough, I thought I could have my cake and eat it by using an old intel quad core gaming rig. I have also got an i5 laptop with a build in intel graphics card as well and the game runs stable on this. It is a pity though as the game looks so much better on the Radeon card than it does on the Intel integrated! On the Radeon the game looks more natural and the colour and ambience is richer, where as on the Intel, it looks more artificial and things dont seem to blend in as well. I will try upgrading the card in my gaming rig to someting more compatiple with openGL and in the meantime play the game on the laptop.
