Just noticed something as I was exploring a cave complex, a long row of shapes within the stone wall, similar to what real world fossils might look like. Is my imagination playing tricks on me, if not does it have any signification other than being pretty?
EDIT: Actually, they look more like something from an ancient tomb or something 
It is quite easy to see shapes in the stone patterns. I often see faces, creatures, even geometric patterns. I understand these are simply a by-product of the textures and how they are applied but they are still quite interesting.

I had more but deleted a lot of them. These are the most interesting.
first screenshot that looks like either iron or copper ore but the rest it is indeed just a texture effect and nothing more 
Right. Red51 explained a while back that that was all it was. It is still fun to find them, though.
oh yes unfortunately this is nothing other than a texture artefact 
would be nice to see real ancient cave drawings at some point randomly generated in the caves we explore, would make them so much more interesting

Even so, I can fantasise about lost civilisations and long forgotten cultures as I make my way deeper down into the dark depths of the unknown.
Actually, they are artifacts from the Ancient Aliens. I have seen these patterns on TV so they have to be true.....
