I felt this was necessary because we're now in the age of VR games while also waiting for Rising World to go VR as well. Red51 noted Rising World would go VR, thus the VR hype, just that it'll take quite a bit getting there. Also, Steam has a lot of junkware that we also need a list to see what fits with Rising World + what may also be fun games on the side here. I'll start the list off with VRChat because it shows what VR is actually capable of to then add things as we go. I'll update the list whenever I find anything worthwhile.

I'll add Subnautica onto that list once the developers get their act together, or when they can properly pool their resources properly into the VR scene. All the games I found interested have been noted in the main post, and it shall be updated with new games whenever I can find proper games to have fun with.

Also, note the funny quote someone added into the VRChat Sword Art Online map heh. It puts things into perspective.

Tales of Glory also gets my highest respect as well for the whole attention to detailing and combat side of things. I just love how your gestures dictate the whole combat that your enemy reacts to it in some manner. It's so realistic that I just love being able to swing in various ways that you can get a good old fashioned sword battle going. You can use whatever weapon you desire that you can fight in your own combat style. I love being able to weild both a spear/lance & a sword for both long and close combat while parrying the enemy's attacks. Now, having a combat horse come at you is a bit terrifying in VR, yet it's fun heh.

Just imaging this sort of combat in Rising World, I do wonder if this is even possible. I wonder if we'll be able to get to this sort of combat style in Rising World. Probably asking way too much of Red51 that maybe I should stick to these games instead, yet ......... Just imagining Rising World with this combat gesturing + holding your hand in the air to rally your troops is awesome! THIS is how you do VR games!

Tales of Glory gets my stamp of approval. Try out the demo at the very least!

The state of VR! I'm hyped!

Alright, I guess I'm the only "active" VR users, yet there have been those that posted before on Steam and such. You guys are making me appear silly, or maybe it was a request I made previously to stay on topic that you guys fear I may snap on you again. If that's the case then I guess we tend to clash a lot over "randomness".

(The good)

I just wanted to note something for those that wanted "food for thought" to check out something actually important that it's easy to miss when you don't care about something (Not paying attention) that you should watch 'Sword Art Online anime season 1 & 2, Ordinal Scale movie, as well as the airing 'Alternative' spin-off to see how VR games go when compared to our reality. View my second posting for Klein's quoting about the state of VR in VRChat SAO map. If you're bored one day just give Sword Art Online anime a go (regardless if it's a "crappy" show or not because that' subjective) to see how VR is portrayed.

The way you see it in 'Ordinal Scale' is actually quite interesting because it also ties VR to Pokemon GO type deals, as well as merchandising that it may indeed be our future. Maybe not with Niantic partnered with VR technology, but someone actually genuinely worthwhile we can have fun games with something called 'Augma' being similar to Google Glass type technology. I love Japanese anime because it parallels so close to real world it's awesome.

This is also a loose recommendation to Red51, Lucien, Waveshapr, and such on a more technical side of things of VR if they're curious + wanting to chime in on things. I'm looking at the technology side of that anime, even if the series itself is filled with feels (less so on the second half of first season; Second half of first season is a bit awkward in a rushed manner).

(The bad)

Sorry, on the flip side of that I'm now feeling depressed because I poured $2000~ Canadian into being able to run VR that I may have gotten a defective Oculus Rift. It's not certain, yet the stupid crappy Oculus Rift store application claims my sensors are out of wack that it also won't boot up my headset. Something small and stupid happened that I'm all bitter, depressed, and defeated that I just may be KO'd for a little while that I may have caught some sort of "bug" from watching Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale movie.....

That 'Oculus Store' application is so useless I had to force it into only turning on in 'administration only' + how junky it is that it may be the cause of my problem here. Rift doesn't care about their home application that Steam is far more supportive that it's a bit ironic there that it makes me furious. I want to kick those that made the 'Oculus Store' for taking things for granted..... This is why we can't have nice things because of lazy practices......... I'm trying to re-calibrate/mend the issue that it simply loops me around that I'm unable to really fix the issue. It won't allow me to fix it......

I'm feeling so depressed that I just want my VR headset to work that I feel I've just been purposely stepped on negatively so I wouldn't have fun so others could have fun... I could be wrong again, yet I hate when things go wrong....... I feel so deflated....... VR is where the future is and I want to have more fun testing out 'Tales of Glory', among other games. Rising World needs to borrow from 'Tales of Glory' combat wise, yet allow for seated play as well......

I feel so "crap" & deflated that I don't know what to do........

Still getting my Rift headset troubleshooted with how stubborn it's being. I'm still furious over the software with how janky it is, yet it is what it is.....

I'm wanting to spotlight 'Rolling Line' for those that have a VR Headset in this community. You can play it in Desktop mode/PC Mode, but only if you hide the SteamVR panel somewhere to the side of the monitor. It's really intrusive.

Rolling Line is a train-sim Toybox hybrid game for the VR where you can drive a train while building the terrain around it. You can do whatever you desire by building tracks the way you want, placing trains in the way you desire, and etc. You can drive trains, change the tracks, as well as change the train types with their carriages. It's a neat game that has standard VR controls while going into the addictive side of detailing. The train feels weighted (Train Sim World style, nearly) that it's a blast to take command of.

In VR you'd be able to tilt your perspective by leading your head in the cab that it be neat to see what's ahead. The downside however is that the SteamVR tends to run obstructing the view that the developer seems a bit "grumpy" about not fixing this that he would repeat himself three times over on that matter. Great game, yet feel there's some slight miscommunication & anger going around in the development side of things. 90% Happiness, yet 10% crankiness.

This game gets my seal of approval

To those that are able to play in VR should also have fun with 'Beat Saber' for the simple & fun side of gaming, something both people and game developers keep forgetting about. Simple gaming fun is what games were originally about that I love it that 'Beat Saber' stands out for being the funnest best game on VR for how simple, yet addicting it is. To try to compare it to Rising World elements one would desire to have fishing elements, or something to be 'casually busy' in Rising World as well to relax to have fun with. Beat Saber is a game going back to the route of "pick up and play" without a harsh learning curve.

On a side-note I love this track because it's genuinely awesome on its own + tying it the anime world of Scathach found in 'Fate/Grand Order' mobile game.

Simple gaming fun is what Nintendo is trying to do that people forget to take it easy, as with watching simplistic anime that they keep whining and harping for more "complex" games. You see 'Rolling Line' in the post above? That applies for "simple" gaming fun that it's easy to get into and have fun. it's highly creative that you can build a rail line to even drive on it.

- Gundam VR (MADNUG Game): (Fan-made project)

This is basically a fan-made game from 2012 onwards that it's now gone VR that it's now covering a void that severely needs to be filled in by Bandai-Namco. The guy is making a Gundam game in VR that you're right in the cockpit while piloting whatever mobile suit (a mech) it gives you. Only those with VR can seem to play that it's best played in VR.

I honestly want to see this guy succeed with this project that I hope he can get whatever needs to be done to get this working. I'm posting it here so I can keep track of the information while it's here. This is 100% what VR needs right now that Bandai-Namco needs to release Gundam VR for both Playstation# & PC Steam variations so it'll create a solid dent in the VR market. Not exclusive to Playstation, but PC as well. Bandai-Namco are experimenting with it for their attractions near the giant 1:1 replicas, just that they have to make it mainstream.

If not them, then maybe Gundam in Rising World where I'll be poking Red51 for mecha support via modding when the proper time comes.

We severely need a good mecha game on VR that 'Steel and Soul' just might take the cake here. Even Gundam VR fangame, but the poor guy is working a day job while working slower than Red51 that he's struggling with it. The best bet right now is to rely on 'Steel and Soul' in the way Warrobots VR was supposed to go full game that I'm going to put all my eggs in the same basket of relying on 'Steel and Soul' to be a system seller.

- Ventings/Ramblings about "VR Realists":

Also, I keep getting into arguments with people being "realists" that they just don't realize how much they're harming a platform they're claiming to be defending. They keep telling me the market size is small that game developers don't really have incentive to go make their games VR which I find half-true, yet moronic. They don't realize that they're defending game studios/developers into making boring games that they're not pushing them to keep making actual proper games. If you don't make your game VR then you're alienating people which you might as well give your potential customers a middle finger when viewing VR as something "minor". You might as well give your potential customers a middle finger if developers won't go VR. You make a game VR then you make that game more welcoming, regardless if it's viewed as a gimmick or not; as a minor market. Minecraft, Skyrim, The Forest, Subnautica, Euro Truck Simulator 2, American Truck Sim.... Adding VR makes a game more inviting, similar how allowing co-op/multiplayer to be a thing for singleplayer games. Give the player more feature power that they'll love your game more.

Sales doubled that I can point out VRchat & Beat Saber influences in that stats, among other VR games on the arcade side of things. (I also hope those stats are genuine)

From the stats I'm seeing the market is growing twice as much each year that you'd be a moronic idiot to ignore the VR potential that we have going. I mean, look at the games I've been listing that show where VR is going. A person tried to flash his University diploma at me (real or fake?) and "realist" title when reality claims otherwise from what they've claimed. Sure, they do have the experience that I don't have, but I do see things they don't see that when I see a void I call it out.

Rising World & CyubeVR need to tap into the survival game market & VR market as best as they can. 'Steel and Soul' shall do it for mecha side of things (until Gundam VR becomes a thing), among other fun beauties.

I find it ironic though how "VR Realists" point out certain flaws that contradict what they say, though on the flip side I'm sure I'm doing the same thing to myself. You'd be an idiot not to tap into the VR market........Sales growing double what it was the previous year, and etc. Something special is also going to happen 2022 with the forecast showing things to be 58 million VR units sold total which may tie in with 'Sword Art Online' 'NerveGear' type anime references. Oculus Rift is influenced by Sword Art Online with a forum title of 'NerveGear' for the average user.

Spice and Wolf (the anime) shall make it onto VR that I'm glad it's being made an VR experience that you'll be able to play on the Vive, Rift, among others. Made by the authors whom made Project Lux, an cinematic experience. Spice & Wolf coming to VR in 2019.

Not much is known that even Google Translate has issues that you may have "some" range of movement that you'll probably be stuck watching an cinematic experience that it may kill the whole VR thing turning it into a gimmick, just that it's being done.

Major Canadian Pride for this Canadian Indie game developer that highest amount of "props" and respect needs to be given to these guys. These developers need respect for delivering something highly solid that they've earned respect on both sides (game quality and nationality) that I'm quite proud for them. You jump into the game to find the main menu being interactive that you can turn the wheel, ring the bell, fire the gun, or even interact with the chest to your right. You can pick up the poster to tackle "chapters" to deal with William Amery as a tutorial chapter, The 'Demon Sisters' as your actual mission, and the third as your "mysterious" boss. The three bosses are damn fun that they have their own fun charm to them that they're quite memorable that it makes you laugh even after playing. William loves messing with his accordion, Demon Sisters love singing while being somewhat punny, while the last is simply "mysterious" and "foggy".

Combat is a blast that you're actually commanding a ship by steering the vessel. You have to turn the wheel hand over hand that it becomes realistically physical experience, yet fun having to multi-task while aiming at your enemy vessels. At times I found myself holding the wheel to steer either left or right while aiming that it was quite an immersive experience. A rush. The wheel moving bit is something I hope we get with 'Rising World', along with the whole VR side of things. It was genuinely awesome commanding both a ship, plus firing from it.

This game is to gain more campaign content that there's more to look forward to. They're even looking into adding PVP multiplayer that it "may" be interesting, yet hoping they also add in PVE content for those that enjoy PVE side of things. Co-op PVE type things. Even though there's three chapters I can see where all their time went that I can't complain about it having three chapters. Better to have a solid foundation than something wonky.

Highly recommended that it also adds nicely to the naval combat genre of VR nicely.

~~(Only complaint is that the 'Demon Sisters' sound older than what they're portrayed that I'm a bit annoyed by that. They sound fairly "witchy" when they should be more "youthful"?)~~

I wish Amy the best in her VR game making progress advnetures that I hope I'm made aware for when she releases the game she's working on. My second point is that she's making VR games when told that VR is a "Dead" market, a "gimmick" feature, or "a fad".... Amy is an influential lady in the video game industry so her making VR games has to be a secondary smart choice at the least. I'm also expecting someone to say that she's simply doing VR games because it keeps the food on the table, but that's with everything really.

Amy basically left EA over frustrations with how Star Wars was being made/handled that she basically wandered off making her own indie VR studio with EA now forcing it to be fully open world where she wanted it to be single player linear, or similar to those lines.

Gundam VR Fangame:

I go on about how we're gradually getting closer to Gundam VR while disappointed that Bandai-Namco refuses to let out a news announcing they're going to make a fun Gundam VR game. There's this guy making a fan-made Gundam game, yet struggling because he's solo'ing, that it shows there's a market. Proof that people want a Gundam PSVR game is this thread over at Gamefaqs:

If Bandai-Namco is worried about funding then that's the issue because they'll sell things at a nice high number that people shall invest in a PSVR. People would buy headsets just to play Gundam VR. Maybe it's a closed door thing where we just don't hear what's going on behind the scenes.

So, if you guys are curious do check out my video above as I try to tackle the Gundam thing seriously showing off Gundam (mobile suit/Mecha) side of things in VR. I'm currently furious Bandai-Namco is "hush-hush" about all this that they could EASILY be raking in the money long term. They would even have to push this game to be PC as well, not just PSVR, for the full profit effects.

Oculus Rift 2:

This was posted back in May 6, 2018 that I was oblivious to the presence of this news. Not sure how I missed it, just that VR headsets are constantly evolving that here's signs of a few new improvements. It's been mentioned that the new Rift would have Varifocal activated, something I noticed to be a flaw with the current Rift when wearing glasses. I always have to squint, or whatever just to read small font in front of my eyes. This next Rift will have proper focus for such issues. The FOV would even be larger by a nice amount.

This is actually quite interesting because it seems to be either an actual prediction, or an anime reference that it has a major boost in 2022. I'm trying to figure out what sort of projection it is, what project we're going to obtain in 2022, as well as why we're projected to have 68.2 million headsets sold either "in" 2022, or "by" 2022.

Sword Art Online: The Beginning:

This is more of a "proof of concept" to show what we can do with our current day technology back in 2016 while also tying into the whole Sword Art Online role of "beta testing". The whole thing with IBM was both an 1) PR Stunt for hype, & 2) What if to show what's possible. There is obviously a market for it that they're aware, just that they need to tap into the whole VIVE, PSVR, & Oculus market for a proper VR game. VRchat shall be it for now, yet it's neat seeing what's done.

A shame this was in quotes "Fake".... It also appears I was late to the party.

A VR headset making use of the eye tracking so NPCS can tell what you're looking at. This ties into the whole Sword Art Online market where a character named Asuna would see if you're listening to her or ignoring her that she would smile, reacting accordingly. This can also be tied into what was mentioned above in Rift 2 about VR vision. I lot could be done with this by tying this into a Gundam VR game for tracking enemy mobile suits, among other practical uses.

This headset is being marketed for developer, creators, and research use so it's aimed more at Red51 and other game developers. Even VR Arcades, and such.

Rumour & Prediction: Apparently we're to gain portable VR devices that isn't plugged into the PC, or any phone devices. Standalone VR. It's rumour as well as a random video.

Now I'm honestly going to say that I'm beginning to become overwhelmed that it's a good sign because the VR market is growing. The VR market is growing, it's saturating, and populating nicely that it's bringing a smile to my face. Mirage is a nice free game where you can visualize your games in VR. There's some pretty trippy and creepy visualizations that I've simply kept to two, yet it's a nice concept. If anything, it belongs in VRchat, yet it's nice as a standalone as well with micro-transactions for visualization.

If you have VR then you must try out 'Furious Seas'! Mirage is awesome that I also bought Ultrawing & Music Racer. I however have issues with Music Racer because it brings up fake VR when you need actual VR for a VR experience. if Rising World does what I just saw Music Racer do I won't be happy. Maybe Walter will, but not me.

It appears I can ease up on this VR thread a bit with how the VR market is now saturating nicely with these sorts of finds.

I was unable to do a "weekly" posting for a while because of how exhausted I was and how busy with work I was. Even if I may be the only one these VR game lists are for I still want to go through these steam VR lists on a weekly basis (regularly) to make sure we have the best VR experience possible. VR isn't "dead", nor a "gimmick", thus why we should treat it with the utmost respect.

Not a bad list, just nothing speaks to me in that list. Nothing stands out that screams in the way Beat Saber does, or Tales of Glory. I'll however probably give a few a try later. Horror games are scary fun in VR that they're genuinely freaky.

- No Man's Sky VR:

It's not official, but everything about No Man's Sky genuinely screams VR. There's mention the developers played around with the Oculus Rift experimenting with it that it probably explains why it feels it's open to VR that the atmosphere of the game would be stunning in VR. You would see a whole lot more than you do on a desktop computer monitor (or pancake monitor). There's hype and talks about No Man's Sky VR that we "may" see it go VR that it would be another one of those necessary boosts to the VR market acting as a necessary support pillar for the whole VR scene. I find it amusing it went from the "worst game" to the one we can use as an example to show what VR is possible.

Even though it was going the way of a 'Scam" I'm still going to give this game the benefit of the doubt to see where it'll go. You'll be reacting to the world realistically that you'll be gesture-chopping trees down, climbing trees for bananas, while also being able to fish, find nodes, and build the Conan Exiles/Medieval Engineers prefab style. The developer regrets being silent so I'll give him a chance that he also noted that he desired to add 2 more islands (to make 3) that we'll be able to boat to explore things with plans for canibals on one, and caves on another.

I loved how I brought something up that he was encouraged to add more features into his game. If genuine, that is what I want to see! I want to see developers proud of their own product.

I'm aware we're to gain something NPC wise for Rising World while Survival Simulator was noted to get pet companions that we'll be able to mount bears. I suggested moose that we'll see what happens there, yet amused by the developers eagerness.

Has it really been a month? Damn. Well, at this point I'm wishing Oculus would have braided their USB cables similar to how PS3 USB cables are. Why? Because they don't tangle. I'm having to slowly untangle the damn Oculus Rift cables damn it. Also been too busy to keep up that I haven't done my weekly or bi-weekly research.

I'm also trying to nudge SCS Software to add actual VR support to both Euro Truck SIm 2 & American Truck Sim to what seems to be a bust. UBOAT developers noted there are no plans that I find that foolish with how neat their game is allowing for interesting First Person interactions with the world and submarine. Bus Simulator 18 still hasn't added VR support that it's also their loss.

If this is about the VR market having a small fanbase, then no s**t! You're not making enough games for the VR market on the level of Beat Saber, VRchat, and etc. Trying to pass it off as magical things shall happen....... I would make VR games if I could..... I love SpicyTail's response that he's making a Spice and Wolf VR game for VR because it'll add towards the VR market. I'm upset with SCS Software especially with how they only have a pet project going on thanks to one developer that they're not going all in with the VR market..... It frustrates me. Sure, maybe making games for VR is costly & "hard", yet it's getting easier every month that it's becoming less and less believable on the "hard" part. If you want to make VR games, you can. There's experienced developers to learn from now, as well as games to study to make it happen!

I'm however going to give 'No King No Kingdom VR' my support because of the unique concept it has that it honestly needs to be spotlighted and supported. It's a unique gem (like Deisim) needing to be supported in the VR market.

Another batch of VR games to note because of 'October Rush', or whichever it was. A few good ones in there It's short because I'm tracking the likes of 'Castaway VR', among others. More would have found their way onto the list.

Stupid Code 51 game being a PVP oriented game..... We need competent game developers to release a PVE orientated co-op mecha game..... Or Bandai-Namco to get off their lazy greedy rear ends to make a PSVR version of a Gundam game that should also be a PC Steam Version. If they do make a VR game of Gundam then it would be a PSVR exclusive.... Stupid Bandai-Namco....

I'm still bitter about waiting on 'Steel & Soul'. Give me one god damn mecha PVE game.... One GOOD one..... *rant rand; Vent vent* When it does release in December 31st, 2018. (IF it does) I'll finally be happy that another void has been filled in. VR market severely needs a good PVE mecha game.... It's all PVP garbage with maybe one good PVP game.

I'm also bitter about how desktop mode developers keep saying "we have no plans for VR" that it basically bites them in the ass. Yeah, no **** VR market is lacking when you don't add to it. The developers for Bus Sim 18 left themselves open, yet the UBOAT one being more "tense" that it's bugging me.

Well, that's your fault. I know I'm being harsh and whiny but honestly that's your fault. I tested the game that it has free-roaming elements that this game needs to support it. It has two modes with one being "tactical" with the other being "free-roamy" exploration for 'Silent Hunter 3' tributes. The Uboat is nicely detailed that it would be perfect as eye candy as well. It was neat in desktop mode; Should be better in VR. The game feels like a 80% polished and modernized SH3 game that it can actually support VR, if the developers cared. But now that they closed the door you guys basically shot yourself in the foot with what could be considered a shotgun, or even a rocket launcher. Not a pistol, as the saying may imply.

That's a nice middle finger there for the VR market. RIP. Yeah, I'm salty... I"m angry..... Why? As a consumer I'm seeing voids with skilled developers making excuses. They may be correct making their decisions that I'm just a whiny customer, just that there's a thing called "supply and demand". It needs to be respected. That's why I'm furious. People have the skill, yet won't use it. But now that I said this I'm expecting to be counter-called on this one for how emotionally charged my posting is.

A friend and I conversed about VR that it became heated that he unintentionally set me off showing how VR is "dead" while also refusing to listen to anything I had to say. I simply view his thoughts as ill-informed while equally ignoring what I had to say, even if he may have read & parroted what was posted. I'm the one with a VR, I know what's going on. I may be bias (maybe arrogant at times), just that I can't agree to "VR dying". Maybe stalled, but not "dying". Two following links were posted to show how VR is dying while mentioning the moronic 3D TV comparison. You can't even immerse yourself with a 3D TV as you can with a VR headset....... I smell envy and jealousy.

- VR is Well & Alive:

Next day over I stumbled across these two articles stating that the Steam numbers show otherwise that numbers are simply on the rise. It matches well with all the headsets being bought with how Beat Saber, VRchat, and others keep praising one another for selling headsets. It matches all the Tweets I've seen tweeted & retweeted of people buying VR headsets. The articles point out that people are also not looking at the right zone that they should be more open minded. Granted, they're pointing towards VR arcades, industry training, and such. I also view it from the perspective that people aren't looking under 'New', 'Trending', and such on Stream VR storage page. People aren't doing their research that they want to be spoon fed.

More games were found on Steam that I've finally done my routine scan again, if belated. There's a nice batch to note & renote.

The VR library simply keeps growing that I just can't understand other game developer's responses of a "small market". Build the right game and people shall support this "small" market. Need to be as assertive as Spicytails are with Spice & Wolf VR whom saw a void, thus trying to fill it with their own game.

- Spice & Wolf Crowdfunding:

Been tracking this heavily because it's one of those heavy hitter VR games that shall send ripple-effects throughout the VR market. It can't be ignored because of the amount of influence it has within and around it that it must be tracked from beginning to the time it's released, and beyond with the amount of weight it holds within the Japanese market, as well as outside of it. I'm hoping once this is successfully crowd funded that "skittish" and "lazy" game developers/studios/publishers shall once again see value in VR which shall once again encourage them to make proper AAA VR games. People do care, just make the right game.

I'm also viewing this so importantly because if VR is more accepted in the mainstream that Red51 shall have an easier time with VR on his end for Rising World VR.... Whatever his vision, I'm hoping it'll be for the best that it shall lead into "gesture" VR, not 'Minecraft VR' VR type movements. Superhot VR is an example for 'gesture' VR, as with VRchat.

I consider this successful because people also love the concept of seeing Holo in VR that they want to support it. Build the right thing and people shall come swarming. Spice & Wolf VR could probably be counted as almost a AAA game, if short because it's still indie side of things. Also, I hate the developer mentality that they won't add VR support when they view the market as "small"...... Just do it....... If you see a void please just fill it in the best you can with how other developers have quietly been doing with Slime Rancher, Scanner Sombre, among others. Nothing shall grow if you don't add to it.......
