Think about that what you want to do in the game especially which game mode ( press ^ or ~ and type "gm 0" or "gm 1" and the same button from begin for leaving console) you want to play. Furthermore you can decide if you will build more minecraftlike or with wood having the texture of others. ( woodplanks have more options )
gm 0 ... survival
gm 1 ... creative
A thought is the use of blueprints too.
