I was wondering if anyone out there still plays the "old" version of Rust? I got back into it as a way to waste some time until the update. I figured since I already had a server I would see if anyone here would like to waste some time with me

Myself, I registered to keep track of my threads.... then dang my helpful and inquisitive soul, I started to answering some questions, then had to ask, to answer questions. Then as I free floated on different servers I decided to rent my own,sooo of course I had to ask more questions..... and the loop keeps going
go to control panel java, general tab, temporary internet files, settings,delete files including installed applications and applets.
Far as the computer performance, if you go to control panel, system, advance system settings, performance,settings, adjust for best performance.
Hibernation right click on window in start click on command prompt (admin)
then enter type powercfg.exe /hibernate off. If you want to turn it back on just do same cmd but have on at the end.
Hmmm I see your problem.... Windows 8 
....Have you dumped your java temp files and updated Java? I update my java from ninite.com because you don't get the toolbars and junk. Have you ran a cleaner like CCleaner to get rid of temp folders and junk? Turned off your hibernation file? Windows 8 has a nasty habit of keeping everything in there errors and all. Also is your system performance set to the bare minimum? On keeping your world, I am sure you read Red's article on how to restore/keep a world corrupt from the update.
And what wrong with aluminum hats???

Is there anyway to reload the Journal without restarting the Server?
I haven't had a chance to put this on my main server but I am sure it will be awesome BUT one thing that would make it great would be....... predefined areas... (waiting for all the no's to go down.) I did not say it would be easy just nice. That way you could setup a server with land parcels and sit back and enjoy your beer...

So do you just copy this over the old area protection or do you have to delete the old one and recreate the areas?

Since last update I have been troubles keeping the game running. Last time I dumped java, uninstalled RW reinstalled it and that helped for a couple days. This morning I was playing ad it dumped me out with attached error log. Please advise.
I found a company in Europe that seems to be okay so far. I was worried about the high ping but once you are on the server you do not even notice, it most of the times.
