The next update will be available on Wednesday, December 18, in the early evening (GMT+1).

This update will not yet replace the Java version, instead it is the actual content update. We'll provide more information about the transition together with the update.

Ok - I was able to capture some screenshots in order to better explain what is going on. Please see them below:

You can see a before, during and after photo of the situation. Please note on the final shot that the triangular block has been added to the wall, but not where the white outline said it would be. Is this a bug in the software or is there something I could do to change the situation so that it fits properly.

I am in the process of building a wall and when I attempt to place a triangular block it always moves into a position that I don't want. X( Before I press the mouse button the outline of the block is white and not red, so it looks like it should work. :?: I went into the setting to see if something could be changed but nothing seems to apply. Is there some kind of snap setting that could be disabled on this one piece? I was going to show a screen shot of the issue but that wasn't working either and resulted in the previous post about screenshots. Thanks for the help in advance. ^^ This is such a great game and I am excited to finish my castle and show it here in the forums, but I need to get a few issues resolved first.

I went into the settings and made the "*" key as the button to use when I want to take a screenshot. Of course, I saved the change. When I press the "*" button in the game nothing happens. I have looked around in my computer but cannot find any screenshots from Rising World at all. Am I missing something obvious? Please let me know what I can do to get this working correctly.

    Thanks.

Quezax - you bring us so much useful information from the developers, especially regarding the hostile mobs options. I'm glad to hear that players will have those kinds of options, just what we need in a sandbox game like this. Everyone should be able to create the game they want to.

Yes, lets make the mobs physical and not just illusory sounds or lights in the distance.

What a great idea to include a raccoon thief in single player games. I suppose that they could be included in multiplayer games as well, but they will really enhance the need for locks and keys in single player environments. This might also make the domesticated dogs more meaningful as they could be used to defend the players stuff from the mischievous raccoons.

I second that suggestion. I hope there will be different varieties of fences, wooden rail fences, barbed wire fences, chain link fences, etc. It will be a great addition to the game.

Hostile mobs will certainly add entertainment value to the game and I look forward to their implementation. It would be nice if these mobs would not be able to blow up and destroy structures. Of course they should be dangerous to the players, but not to our buildings. If some players want them to have this kind of behavior then there should be an option to turn mob building destruction on or off.

Since Rising World looks much more real than other games of this genre it would be better if mobs have a realistic attack. In other words dogs should looks as if they are biting a player, bears should look as if they slashing a player with their claws, elk should look as though they are goring players with their antlers, etc. Much of the fun is lost when the mob merely stands next to the player and damage is dealt in what appears to be a physically passive mind attack. Good luck developers - your hard work is paying off! :)

I hope that you will build the equivalent of an ironman mode into Rising World in the future. No cheat commands would be allowed and saved game files could not be tampered with. This would make it possible to include achievements for Steam players. It would be interesting to see what achievements this community would like to have available. I'll start off with a few of my own ideas with their possible names:

    1. 1000 or 10,000 bits of stone mined (stone miner)
    2. 1000 or 10,000 bits of dirt mined (dirt farmer)
    3. 500 or 5,000 pieces of wood cut down (wood cutter)
    4. 100 or 1,000 pigs killed (the butcher)
    5. Win a fight against another player who is armed with no weapons of your own. (Invincible)

I was looking in the "Features" section of the "More" part of your website and discovered that there will be endless worlds implemented into the game in the near future. Would you describe to me what this will be like? My mind immediately began to race with ideas when I read this. How will you make this possible without overtaxing the computing resources of the average player? Will players be able to designate how large they want their game to be? Of course, the idea of a virtual world that never ends sounds wonderful, so please implement this feature as soon as possible. I'm just trying to wrap my head around this concept in the Rising World environment. Thanks in advance!

I was going to ask if it was around midnight when it disappeared. And did a number of mice disappear as well? Has there been a carriage pulled by a couple of horses sighted in the area?

Ha! Just kidding. Hope you get it resolved.

Lol. Yes, I did see a suspicious woman racing off in a carriage immediately following the theft of my pumpkin. Clearly I need to implement better security measures at my castle.

This is a quick comment about the creation of differnt key styles. It would be useful because players will not want to hold a modern looking key in their avatar's hand when they playing in a world filled with castles, horses, and torches. I am not sure if the developers want to explore the idea of allowing players to create different key styles that represent their ability to open locks that are more or less difficult to pick.

That's great to hear. It will make the night environment look wonderful and feel more immersive. Will there be any star constellations? It might also be fun to place the North Star in the game. Perhaps a user could even use it to navigate from, not because it is essential due to the upcoming map functionality, but just for fun. Please know that I do appreciate how many things the development team is trying to accomplish right now, and many player suggestions will need to wait or may never be implemented. In the distant future it might be exciting to actually add a calendar year to the game. The constellations would be set with some reasonable accuracy for the 1st of January. With each new sunset the constellations would move into their new positions until the end of the year. At this point the night sky would reset for the 1st night in January. So many possibilities in Rising World!

It is interesting to me that every time I play this game more ideas come to me. No doubt because of the many possibilities that Rising World gives to the player. Alright, here are my ideas:
    1. Will it be possible to make books in a future build? If that happens then will we be able to place those books on our bookshelves in a precise way? For some people it is fun to arrange a book shelf to their own liking. :D
    2. Will it ever be possible to create keys for specific doors in the game? This would be very fun to use, especially in multiplayer games. Perhaps different key styles for aesthetic purposes. Also, it might be possible to make some keys that are more difficult to pick than others. I have not quite thought that last bit through all the way, but there might be something to it.
    3. The posters that can be placed in game are great. Would it be possible in the future to build wood or plastic frames to put around them? Depending on the look a builder was going for this could add a lot to a structure.

Thanks for being so responsive on the forum - what a wonderfully creative environment!

Did the developers happen to mention ceiling doors that a player might use after climbing up a ladder or flight of stairs? This would be extremely useful in towers where you don't want to constantly be afraid to fall down your own stairwell. It might also be a security mechanism against monsters in some circumstances with future builds.

After Quezax brought up the difference between dropping and item and placing an item my "pumpkin disappearance" made much more sense. However, would it be possible in the future to place some harvested items? I am thinking of logical places where we would expect to find them. One example would be to harvest flowers out in the outdoor environment and then place them in one of the decorative vases. I have several vases that would look much more decorative if they were not empty.

It seems like the stars in the sky are very fuzzy and don't look real. Everything else in the game is so clear and full of details that they don't really belong in Rising World. Would it be possible to make them look more like real stars? Thanks for all your hard work on this enterprise - very nice so far.

It is a great game and I hope that the steam release will make it possible for many more people to try out Rising World in its alpha state. We are looking forward to the next update!! Will it be the planting of trees? Very excited!

That is an important difference to make Quezax. It was not a Jack o' Lantern and the only way to put it on the table was to drop it on the table. Is there a way to place harvested items with the f key? Perhaps that is what I should have done. If it is not currently possible to do that the developers should consider making that possible in the future.
