I was hoping that now that we have water that oil and lava can be added. I am picturing having to drill underground to collect oil. As we grow more advanced then we can craft batteries and solar panels and live without the need for peteoleum. There are enough caves and the earth is deep enough that oil reserves should not be a problem.

As I brought up the idea of lava tubes in another post, I was thinking that when lava produces heat that we can get into geothermal energy. Hydro too now that we have water but that may require springs and dynamic water.

Pretty sure corn was discussed a while back but I would love to hear an update from Red on whether this will be coming soon. A campfire popper would be awesome. A movie theatre style popper would be cool. Personally I just want to craft a water distiller to go along with the rainwater collectors you've suggested :)

I found a company in Europe that seems to be okay so far. I was worried about the high ping but once you are on the server you do not even notice, it most of the times.

What is your ping time? Mine is in the 50s but the freaks r us server is half that and on both servers, i run into the issue where the furnace wont let me reload after another player unloads it. Its like there is a severe delay in event updates. Re-logging usually solves the problem for me.

The floating animals issue seems to be getting worse. I first noticed flying animals after biome update . Last night I sat on a flying cow. I hope the clothing update comes before the animal fix because i want to get a pictute of myself in armor and wielding a battle axe while riding my flying ravaging moo moo into battle!

So I entered creative mode to fill a water basin i made out of stair blocks on the top. I only had the option to make a 2x2 grid on the inside or a 4x4 grid of water. either way, its too little or too much water. with the larger water grid, the water spills out the side. Is there a way (or plans to) make the water blocks smaller? Or perhaps make the water as objects instead of blocks instead. Not sure what the solution is here. Maybe waiting for dynamic water is the way to go. I could ofcourse make the basin in the ground but would not go for the look I want.

I used nitrado for a while and it worked well but i eventually went over to linode so i could consolidate various needs such as webhosting and running a game server with a dual core cpu which is something nitrado did not offer. This was necessary to run a 7 days to die server because the server software is not very efficient. this was back in Alpha 13. I don't know if Alpha 14 is any better server side.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch Z. I've tried making some new worlds already and water is very rare to find. Possibly some of you other guys out there can share some seeds? So far I've spawned in the middle of apparently a very big ocean, right next to a pack of tigers umm (death by insult there) and for some reason 75 ft. in the air above a plains biome. I gave up looking for new worlds and decided to stick with the one I have. I'll record some more tomorrow Z, hope you do too :)

Yes, this new build is still a bit buggy about spawning locations or spawning in the air. I'm sure it will be fixed in time. The first time I spawned in the water update, i fell into the ocean! Other players have spawned next to tigers or bears. A safe zone needs to be implemented still.

Thanks Red! The game now loads on my low-end Linux laptop so I can do some RW stuff at a glorious 10 fps at 3 chunk draw distance :)

I'll check the music when i get home to my gaming PC but I'm sure its fixed now. I was the one who brought up music distortion to 'waveshapr'

And now to update my server for the 3rd time this week! :-D

Love the update. Woke up around 7AM EST (Eastern Standard Time) yesterday began playing around 9 AM. The world loaded just fine no, bugs, glitches or anti-stitching. In similar games like Minecraft when new terrain generation is introduced one would get world cut off's or world-cuts places you can tell the difference between new terrain and the old after a biome update. What I've seen in some other's videos is only happening because their world was created prior to .6 though it still has a small chance of recurring from .6 to the .7.

I'm exploring the Freaks R Us server right now which has been using the same world since way before the biome update. If you travel out farther into the world, you see how bad the land is broken up from when the biomes update hit back in December. I agree that the transition to the water update was far less damaging to terrain. There are some more biomes to add (atleast a swamp) so hopefully the transitions will be minor. We are still waiting for rivers and streams but so far the lakes I've seen in the games just look fantastic!

I am glad its finally Friday so I can spend the weekend in Rising World instead of looking at pictures of RisingWorld lakes from work ;)

Hi all well i guess the wait was worth it this game gets better and better, shame its just static water would be nice to see it flowing but still looking very nice for a alpha, so i went on a little walk about 10 minutes and found this

Nice! I like the island in the middle of the lake. That's very neat

I see what happened now. Mefistus posted a compass tool as well. I think I like his version better than the original compass. It also does the same thing as your gps tool. I'm not sure if i can run all these seperately. I'll experiment later.

The drawback to not choosing to be a DBA in life is that I suck at the occasional sql queries I need to run.

    Thanks Red. it worked :)

I'm running mysql on a Debian 8 server. I can't seem to set spawn point. i keep getting syntax error. I know I can do this via game console but I do not have access to my gaming computer so I'm doing this backend

    mysql> update WorldInfos set Value="-4011.0 67.0 506.0" where Key="Spawnposition";

I keep getting a syntax error

Did this script change recently? It used to show coordinates. I wiped my old server and forgot to backup the script. Is this under version control by chance? Is there another plugin intended to give coordinates instead of the compass?
