Watermellon forest? Interesting idea. There's a lua script that spawns random vegetation. I've been meaning to give that a try.

Hmm... I was looking for a witty response to the Hamlet reference and then I found a Shakespeare cave insted:
Anyways, I always leave caves turned on but I like to live underground like a dwarf and they cut down on mining when you're digging deep to find gold. Just use plenty of torches to light a path so you can figure out how to get back to the surface.
Also, when water comes, I'll definately be making some underground lakes if they do not yet generate naturally with the water update.

You should've grown some watermelons in the desert.

Could we then craft a post office to retrieve messages or perhaps we can evolve into the digital age and all carry around tablets in place of journals.

Terrain is generated using an algorithm and a seed number so the same world generates each time. Code-wise, a modifier such as a filter for biomes or make them larger should not be hard. It wouldn't be different I'd imagine from the modifiers such as world type or ore quantity and whatever future ones will come but my question is, why limit the biomes? The biomes are massive to begin with so there's plenty of space to do whatever you want.

I like this Red. I feel like the current rake operates a little too slow. Will it also automatically move excess dirt into inventory? When can we expect the shovel to be craftable? it seems to work pretty well as is.

My life seems more fulfilled with an authentic Red51

When I build an art museum I'll transfer it over

It definitely helps because then you can easily raise the level between the clumps of dirt.

I think that the original intention of the rake was that it would add/remove dirt in your inventory as you lower/raise terrain. I'd love for the rake to operate a bit quicker. Personally what I do is I use a pickaxe to remove most of the dirt in an area where I want to lower the terrain then I use the dirt in spots where raising the terrain is not working very well. So a blob of dirt in that upper right corner in your diagram might help to finish with the terraforming you are doing.

Welcome back Red. Hope you are taking a needed break from the week. We imagine you've been coding hard lately.

Yes... Stone bricks would be a good way to keep out scavangers.

Did you borrow some artwork from Metroid Zero Mission? The wings with the two blue orbs look like a Chozo artifact.

Day 35: Still no water, my friends and i are slowly dying off. Dehydration set in last week, are we're all withering away to nothing. We pray that our merciful god, red51, will soon bless us with the water that we so desperately need.
The great Red one has been away for a week. Surely he is high up in the mountains, stirring the rain clouds of creation and shall return to us with bountiful blessings. Nay only recently have we cultivated the watermelon. May its sustenance sustain us in these dry times. We wait anxiously for thy return.

The reflection seems too high in the screenshot. but that was two months ago. Who knows what things look like now?
*nudge nudge* Red, we need more screenshots
