Interesting. What is your seed number and when was the world initially generated? Was it before december 24th?

Bump!
I also like the idea of crafting books. I know that in the future Red wants to add in NPC characters, villages, and abandoned cabins in the woods and such. It would be interesting to be able to pick up a book describing how to craft more advanced or rare items. Something like these could be collected and placed onto a bookshelf like in ARK.
I'm not sure if I'm in favor of manually assembling a chair or whatnot. I don't think we need to go that deep into detail but that's my opinion. However, there should be experience that can be gained in different areas such as furniture crafting. I've also suggested a level of quality for crafted items. Like in 7 Days to die, the more you craft a stone axe, the higher quality each subsequent axe becomes which results in better durability and efficiency in resource gathering. I actually love the experience system in 7d2d and am hoping we see some skillsets work their way into Rising World.

I like this idea a lot. I chatted with ArcticKitsu who said this sounds similar to the tanning craftwork in Skyrim which I looked up and it sounds very interesting.

As a matter of fact, I don't believe we've yet had any in-depth discussions about pelt and hide and leather work on this forum. In the past we have had discussions on and proposed new plants such as hemp, reed, and bamboo to be added as sources of thatch and fiber and other basic crafting ingredients. ArcticKitsu has brought up several ideas for new primitive tools that could be made. We want to see this game develop to have a complex crafting system. I'd like to see something much better than what ARK offers. You start out on the land with no tools or weapons and you have to gather basic raw materials to make a simple tools and work your way through the various ages of technology.
I personally want to be able to gather the hide of a bear to make myself a bear carpet!
I will also say that a horse model does exist but is not yet available to spawn. Anything new to be added is possible and what you've proposed is most certainly possible, it just comes down to time spent coding and modeling. But you have two thumbs up from this fox on your ideas

Could this be a problem? The syntax is each username is separated by ; so whitespace might be interpreted. -
Then we will have stuffed penguins!

You might have to make yourself an administrator.

We need player models first.

Yes, I posted that earlier.
Anyways, I've been doing some more research, the owner has the user id of Zudomon on youtube and has built his/her own custom engine for this game. Very impressive work. I actually feel like visually this would be a real competitor to Rising World. However, the intention of this game is to be an MMORPG + sandbox game. The terrains and plantlife look very natural, everything just blends together so well that it makes me thing its too good to be seed generated. Since its an MMORPG, I'm assuming it is not seed generated. I'd love to see some terrain like this in Rising World, the mountains and arches and cliffs look very natural in this game.

I hope a model for this is in the works. I should be able to craft one as a trophy for fighting off those damn bears.
Actually, I'm wondering if fur or hide dropped from each animal will be unique to that animal or generic? It would be cool to have clothing or trophies specific to a certain animal. E.g... I should be able to kill a bunch of foxes and make a fur fox coat (I'm going to hell for this). -
The fox also speaks "ring ding ding ding dingaling ding!"

It works ok for me too but it does seem unpolished compared to the video I found. What I was impressed the most was the amount of detail on the ground and the mountain formations seeming real.
There's some system of spawning creatures. I spawned a gremlin and it killed me :\

Here's a good one I just stumbled upon.
The visuals on this is how I envision Rising World when the game is completed. It looks like there is a download available on the website so I'm going to test it out shortly. It doesnt look like its available on Steam.

I pulled useful coordinates from the database. try teleporting to -1533 65 -929
I'll explore more when I get home but the screenshots looks really cool. -
Hi Endre,
Perhaps you mean to start a multiplayer server. Do you have a place to host? If not I can throw this on my server and share it out.

I was looking into getting this game, it is my sort of thing but the trouble is no enemies in it, it's far to relaxed for my liking. I don't know everything about the game but I know animals are in there but don't move around. It could do with some enemies in the game for SP. I might buy it in the future when/if they implement something. You mentioned MineCraft in this thread, it looks abit like that but they've missed a trick because as far as I know in this game you can't do half of the things you can in MineCraft. I'm still waiting for a game to come along that takes MineCraft on but with improved graphics, I thought this might have been it but who knows maybe in the future.
In all fairness, a lot of people compare Rising World to Minecraft because of some similarities (e.g. grab pickaxe, mine, place torches, smelt ores, make better tools, start a farm). Minecraft has been around for a long time and Rising World and many others are certainly inspired by it. I understand the game is a bit too relaxing at this point for some people's taste. Perhaps look into it again once dungeons are implemented. I believe that dungeon monsters are planned along with it. If monsters do not end up roaming the lands then atleast when development furthers to the point where we can start making modpacks, then I'm sure you'll see lots of mods to suit your pesronal tastes. Unfortunately for now its still a bit early still, considering that the current API and even LUA scripting is being discarded in place for something else. At this point, modding is not feasible until the API is finalized.

I think Red mentioned buckets recently but i'm not sure if we are getting one yet. Perhaps when cooking becomes a thing in this game. I know the cooking pot has been around for a while in the game code but its not yet functional. I really don't know. If water is going to start out as static, perhaps we can make floating oceans, water walls or some other Abyss looking stuff.

I wonder If with the first static water update we will be able to also place water or that will happen when there is physics into it.Has anybody heard anything about this?
From what I recall, you will be able to place water via creative mode. So if you are playing an existing world, water will only naturally generate in areas you have not explored yet. For areas you have explored or anywhere else really, you can place water blocks. I'm assuming these will act like infinite water blocks in minecraft, not sure really.

Perhaps we misunderstood the intention of your statement, please enlighten us.
