The next update will be available on Wednesday, December 18, in the early evening (GMT+1).

This update will not yet replace the Java version, instead it is the actual content update. We'll provide more information about the transition together with the update.

    Here's a suggestion:

Normal users should be able to create areas as well. When they create an area, they will be moved to the Admin group in that area. It should be possible to define a max size of an area (and maybe a max number of areas?) a default user can create.

Weird... It seems to be working instantly when I used the backup, even though I had no luck getting it working earlier. I've been trying to make it work since 0.5.1.3, but no one could connect. I just spawned in a different location now.

Well, at least the old world is back again, @green777 :) I hope you'll be able to find your house if you don't spawn in your last location. I have no idea why I spawned in a place where I have never been, since it's the exact same files that were used before. I made a backup of the server while it was shut down, and that backup has been restored now.

In the old map, when it crashed and what not, were there exceptions in the console output? I have held off on implementing the new areaProtection because I am busy with a server manager which will make it easy for someone to pick up and launch without much knowledge.

If your post is directed towards me, then the server doesn't crash. No one is able to connect to the server even though it's running :)

We restarted the server, if it's the LUA one.

We had problems connecting to the server when we uploaded the AreaProtection script to the server, so we did a little troubleshooting. When starting the server with a new world, we could connect. We still have the old map if anyone can point us in the direction of the problem.

Some people complained about griefing - their homes were destroyed every time they logged on to the server (mine included).

Most of the time we know what we're doing, but after troubleshooting this problem for about two days, I gave up and tried the easy solution. AreaProtect is definately needed since griefing really took away the fun of playing this game. Even though we're hosting servers for Rising World, I still like to play the game, but not when my house gets destroyed :P

I haven't read all the posts - sorry. It's late, and I just wanted to give an answer to why the world is restarted - it will be reverted to the old one if anyone can help me fix the problem, or I can setup a new server with the old map. :)

    Edit:
Sorry if I've ruined the game experience for you - that was not my intention. I don't play Rising World that much (been pretty busy working on updating some stuff for Minecraft and getting everything regarding Rising World working in TCAdmin and translating our entire website from English to Danish.
The Rising World servers that are running as 'Prima Servers' and 'Prima Servers - LUA' were essentially just created for testing, but of course I didn't want to wipe the world. :) I'm just taking a game of CSGO, and I'll look into the problem again.

Also, this has nothing to do with a bug or the game/server being unstable or anything. The devs has nothing to do with this :) It was my choice. Just wanted to make that clear. :)

Yep... The support.lua file is a completely rip of the support.lua that's in the h0tstuff script.
Except that he somehow thought it would be ok to put in
    -- my Crap
    -- dont be sad

The things in script.lua seems to be made by himself though.

Even if i buy this game from an us company like steam/valve whatever, as long they offer it at the german market, the german rights start working.

As someone who has been a CEO of a company for 2 years, this is completely bullshit. No one would do business then.

Thats right, but where is the problem about it?

The problem is that you say the game is unplayable. Given that you have played a total of 4.4 hours when you owned the game for less than 6 hours (and taken into account that you obviously also had problems getting it to work in the first round), the game seems to be fully playable. On Steam the problem is not that the game is crashing - you just say you don't like the game. On these forums you say the game is unplayable - that's two completely different things. You even say on Steam you don't mind the game crashing.

Even if i have fucking played it 1000 hours, it would doesnt matter the fact, that this game is broken.

Broken? It's alpha. The game hasn't even been on Steam for a month. If you don't like broken games, you shouldn't throw stuff at things that aren't finished.

And still none of the devs react.

No, they just released an update yesterday, and there's more important things than getting back to people who are ignorant and refuse to understand how things work.

I will write to steam and get my refund for sure.

Oh, so you don't read what we post? You can't get refunded: https://support.steampowered.c…le.php?ref=5999-WCVM-3883 - Valve doesn't make an exception for you. They never make exceptions. They're a huge company - they have other things to do than give a flying damn about you not liking the game.

This tryhards boy please grow up.

I'm the one who should grow up? You refuse to understand anything we tell you.

    Sincerely,
    Sherlock Holmes
    Scottish Detective

    Nice find :)
Game is alpha - he should expect crashes. When that's said, it took him less than 6 hours to ask for a refund after buying the game. It would be weird if he asked for a refund and then kept playing the game, so we have to assume that the 4.4 hours is played between the time where he bought the game and when he asked for the refund, meaning he played a game that just kept crashing for almost 4.4 hours straight, right after buying it. Does this sound weird to you guys? Because it does to me. If a game keeps crashing for me, I stop playing it.

Also, the crashing has nothing to do with him wanting a refund. As I said in my first post, he just don't like the game:

    Quote

cause i just thought it would be more survival gameplay as just crafting crafting, for me this game has no kind of "soul".

Had he just said from the beginning of this thread that he didn't like the game, I would've respected that much more than him trying to get a refund by telling lies about the game being totally unplayable and not working on his PC. If he's able to play for 4.4 hours out of a total of less than 6 hours, the game is not unplayable.

I just want a refund. Why none of the admins response to the thread? I repeat: I just want a refund!

You want a refund rather than have the problem solved? Sounds very much like you have no issues running the game, but more like you don't like the game.
If the problem was that you couldn't start the game, you would be asking for a way to fix it. You're not. You just want a refund.

    Hi!

My name is Dennis, and I'm CEO of Prima Servers, a Danish GSP. We were approached by the developers of Rising World in December, and they wanted us to be an official server host - something we said yes to without hesitating. We love the game. We've been working on translating our website to English, but we've probably missed something. If you stumble upon anything that doesn't look English, please let us know (we're aware of the the slider in the front page not being English yet - that will be translated soon). :)

A little information about our service:

    • You're paying for the amount of RAM you want - slots can be anything you want
    • All servers are running SSD
    • All servers are protected by most network attacks - we haven't had any downtime for more than one and a half year due to network attacks
    • You'll be able to create a free MySQL database
    • We'll make sure that updates are available to install from the control panel ASAP*
    • We're currently the only GSP using TCAdmin that supports Rising World completely**
    • Daily backups are stored on remote servers - just contact us if you need a backup of your server (we keep backups for three days)

    * You will also be able to upload the update yourself if you want to
** We've worked together with the developer of TCAdmin to have a working query method implemented - we're currently the only TCAdmin host having access to this

    A little about us:

As I already said, we're a game service provider registered in Denmark. We are three guys working on this 'project', which we tend to call it - Kristian, Morten and me, Dennis. You've probably heard this before, but we want to make it clear that we're not in this for the money - it's more of a project for us, as I said before. For the 2 years we've been running (started late 2012), we haven't taken a single Danish krone (the currency in Denmark) out of the company. Everything we've earned has been used to expand the company. As much as we'd like to make a living out of this, we much rather want to provide a fantastic service for our customers. Also if that means we can't buy a drink for ourselves. Why do I want to make this clear? Because we like to make it clear to you that we care very much for our customers. We started hosting servers because we wanted to challenge the GSP's in Denmark because we thought their service was sloppy - and within a few months we were recommended by users on various Danish forums - that were a huge kick for us.
Kristian and I have been working together on hosting servers for various games since 2010, and Morten chose to join us in early 2013. Morten is a Minecraft enthusiast, so if you have any questions regarding that, he'll be glad to help you out. Kristian and I will of course also be ready to assist you if you have any questions regarding any kind of game service that we host.

We hope to see you as a future customer!
    Kind regards,
    Kristian, Morten and Dennis

Maybe instead of finding raw ore, it also spawns in odd formations as iron. Or copper. Maybe you would need more then a pickaxe to get that kind of stuff out? Use the pickaxe to expose the metal, then harvest it with a rustic, primitive sawzall (could have different types of blades for the different types of metals etc..)? Then you have to melt it down in order to use it again. Just a thought.

I like this idea, but don't you think it will get a little too complex to just go resource-hunting and mine stuff?
I mean, in Minecraft you've got different kinds of ores, and these ores can all be mined with different types of pickaxes - woodpick to mine stone/coal, stonepick to mine iron, ironpick to mine gold/diamond, and diamondpick to mine everything. It's pretty basic, and everyone gets the idea of having to upgrade your pick to mine higher-tier ores.
I know this game isn't Minecraft, but I'd much rather see a system like that :)
