The next update will be available on Wednesday, December 18, in the early evening (GMT+1).
This update will not yet replace the Java version, instead it is the actual content update. We'll provide more information about the transition together with the update.

TCP first, then repeat it for UDP, so that you cover both.
ok done ill restart rising world and try again.. you can join now
-
Alright, after that, you will need to restart Rising World, so that Firewall can allow the port connection through.

TCP or UDP
-
Click the Start button, go to Control Panel, select Security, then Windows Firewall.
At the side, click 'Advanced Settings'.
Now choose 'Inbound Rules'.
Under Actions, choose 'New Rule'.
Select Port, click Next.
Inside 'Specific Local Ports', type this exactly:
Click Next.
Select 'Allow the connection'.
Click Next.
Choose the network type, usually Private, but it might be best to choose Private and Public.
Click Next, then for the name type 'RisingWorld'.
Click Finish.
Should now work... if not, then, uh, must be a bug, surely...
ok ill do that now

is there anyway @red51 you can just host one main server and hive it? so for example just a normal server its a german host and i join as im australian it would be about 300 anyway to hive servers so if i joined i would have a perfect ping even though its a german server? servers like world or warcraft or lord or the rings online or any MMO where you can all hive of one connection and still be fine with low ping no matter where you're from

Yes, it is possible that the current multiplayer issue prevents you from connecting.
But it is also possible that your firewall or antivirus program, @Degalbro, is blocking the connection. What antivirus program do you use? You can try to temporarily disable both, and then try connecting again.i actually dont have antivirus lol
-
I've asked @red51 to take a look to see what's wrong.
i would just do a dedicated server but i dont know how to host that stuff or server restarts or anything im sure thats where people just lag out in most servers so i just would rather a simple setup but obviously its not that simple lol
-
For the 'Protocol', are you able to change that to Any? Rather than a separate one for each?
i put any but it still makes one for each
-
Yep, that's perfect. Now restart Rising World, load up your world again and tell me when you're ready.
ok restarted game and in singleplayer again
-
Port Range is incorrect.
Needs to be 4255 to 4259.

-
Can you show me a screenshot of all those settings now?

Thanks. You don't use the '25565' port in the IP by the way, the default port for Rising World is 4255, so it would be IPHere:4255.
I can't connect currently, are you definitely in the game?
ok thanks! yea im in my singleplayer world yes
Use UPnP:No
Use Extended Security:YesGame or ApplicationDeviceLog
Rising WorldAdmin-PCOff

Once you've added it, hit apply, etc. Then you can give your IP to your friend and they should be able to connect.
so i start singleplayer now and they should be able to join? can you help test it? my friends not on atm
-
Yep, that should work. You may not even need anything in Trigger Port, but we'll see.
ok so do i do now :)?
-
Okay, try leaving Trigger Protocol at Any.
For the port range, in the top range box, put 4255, in the bottom one put 4259.
Then click Add.
http://gyazo.com/fe0113b61865bebff75faca65b44818e so thats it? press add now?
-
Okay, click 'Toolbox' at the side, then click Game & Application Sharing, followed by Create a New Game or Application, in the Name box, enter RisingWorld.
In Manual Entry of Port Maps, put a dot.
Click Next.
For the Trigger Protocol, choose TCP and UDP.
Port range: 4255 to 4259
Trigger port: 4255
Click Apply.
That should then work!
for protocol i can only choose TCP or UDP <> http://gyazo.com/858ab460e9cdd109d681b0b8721e5314 <>
what port range should i put in?
in order what should i put in
-
1. sand
2. creek beds <> rivers <> mountains with flowing water off it
3. kids play sets <> swings <> seesaws
4. fire blocks where you can chop wood up into little blocks put it in a fire place and burn it like a real fireill add more when i think about more

Maybe.. we will think about it I personally don't like it to say which feature will be in the next update exactly, because sometimes not everything during development goes according to plan, and we change priorities while working on new updates. And we really hate it to delay updates because an announced feature is not ready yet^^
Perhaps we can add some kind of a "long term roadmap", containing the planned features for the next updatescan you give a ruff idea what is in the next update and when will it be?
