I'm a bit of a wimp in regards to games like this. Now if i were armoured to the teeth....then i'd think about...shouting some silly one-liner from ten miles away. haa!

This reminds me of those awesome Medieval Re-Enactment places, where they live, dream and breathe the medieval lifestyle. I'd love this idea. It would be so fun.
It could even have its own set of mobs too, so you only get bandits and soldiers from other kingdoms storming across the landscape to lay siege to your fortress and plunder your treasure room. Haa! -

I also had this idea of pickaxes and ore. Perhaps each pickaxe could have a set number of how many pieces of ore you get. So, you might get 2 pieces of ore for every 4th hit with an iron pichaxe (crunch ha!), but what if you got 4 pieces with a steel pickaxe, and 6 pieces with something stronger.
Ultimately, there has to be some real reason for creating these things right? haa!
it may be a little too late, but i'd love to hear a kind of metallic noise when you strike at ore, so that you know you've hit something special. It would be so satisfying. Dirt should make a thudding noise, stone should stay as it is, and ore should have this metallic 'ding' noise. In the future, i'd love to hear gemstone make a glassy noise too. something special and unique to them.
I don't want to annoy everyone, but i think that it would be really satisfying. Haa! -
When birds are introduced, why not have them randomly drop seeds, and plant really unusual crops on your plot. There could be a really small chance to get something really rare. I think it would add to the realism. haa!

The guys are working on it. They're planning on revamping the character models so that you can customize your appearance, and wear clothes etc, and i believe that animations are planned alongside this.

The majority of animals attack in defence. They feel threatened, and they have to choose either to fight or flee...most choose to flee, but if you take this option away from them, you deserve to be bitten on the nose. haaa!

I think we're all thinking like yourself Arcticukitsu. We're so very excited about this game, and the fact that the Devs actually listen to us, but we're not intentionally trying to force them into any rash decisions at all.
I think that when the biomes are in, there could, in the far far (farfarfar) future, be some kind of system (i'm using rain as an example again ha!) where the deeper into a forest you are, the sound changes, as opposed to if you're walking along in the open countryside. Like the rain muffles if you're under cover of a thick canopy of trees' branches and leaves, (not as muffled as indoors), but it sounds much more harsh if you're out in the open.
