  • RW crashes on startup

I got the following error message when trying to launch Rising world, I tried it twice and the same error happened.

  • Thanks for posting the error message! This error indicates that the audio device could not be initialized. Usually this happens if there is either a driver issue, or a configuration issue in Windows. Please try this: rightclick on the small speaker icon in the lower right corner of the screen -> sounds -> go to the "playback" tab and disable all unused audio devices. Also make sure your main device is marked as "default" device (select -> hit "set default").

Now please try to run the game. If you still run into this issue, it could be necessary to install the latest driver for your audio device.

There could be also a background programm which interferes with our audio engine. There had been reports about "Nahimic" and "Sonic Studio" which take exclusive control over the audio device (so the game cannot initialize it). If you run any of these programs, please disable them and try to run the game again.
