What is required to migrate a dedicated server from the old to the new Rising World

A new update is now available, introducing seasons and more!
  • Steam or Standalone?
    Steam
    Singleplayer or multiplayer?
    Multiplayer
    Error message?
    No
    Operating system
    Linux

We have a dedicated server hosted at GTX. We have been playing the original RW there for 2 years.

Does the server need to be updated or changed to host the newer client?

What do the individual players need to do in order to move to the new client?

We have searched the forums and looked at hosting options at GTX and have found nothing that addresses this.

  • Unfortunately the new version isn't available yet, so there is no way to update the server now. There will be a playable demo soon, but that one cannot be played in multiplayer.

We will post an announcement in a timely manner when a playable multiplayer version is ready (including instructions about how to update the server) ;)
