I was wondering how to heal from cold damage. Food looks like the only way. Bandages did nothing but give me your not bleeding message. Sleeping on a bed, I could not tell. Cooked meat but have kill animals and does help in fights for quick heal. I do not have modern workbench. So no first aid kits.

The game does not distingiush what caused the damage, so eating is indeed the best way to restore your health.
Health doesn't regenerate automatically yet, but maybe this is something we could add in a future update
