Starting position

I was wondering to get the starting point random instead of the center of the map. For my game. By inner lake that only has southern exit to ocean. Using a boat to go north or east or west islands will be a pain after making main base. Unless planning fast travel or portal system. I used fly to travel the other islands. Boat travel would be too long from the center spot. Starting at random point can good and bad things. Starting at north or south side of the map, makes 1 island closer while the other is farther away. Guess you can pack up and move it but after making a nice base can be a pain to remake it. Not sure if blueprints working making cave base. Yes I carved out a base in the mountain to be protected from the elements.
