Two computers on same network. dedicated server on one and game on another. Can't play on my server on other computer.

  • Hello, I have a RW dedicated server on one computer and the RW game on another. Same network. I run the server on one and launch the game on the other but get the steam error saying "you are already running Rising World Dedicated Server on another computer.....". I am not launching the sever exe on the computer I want to just play the game on. It used to work on the java version, buy Unity seems to be more picky. I can, however, play the game on the same computer running the server, but my game machine is three times better than the server machine. Do i need to buy another version of RW to use on another steam ID and use that account to run the server? Thanks!

  • for the server to show in the list you have to have ports forwarded, default is 4255 for server and 4254 for web server. if you dont want to mess with forwarding you can click connect via IP at the bottom of the multiplayer screen. you then enter the local IP address of the machine the server is on . as for the issues with steam running. close steam on the server and locate the rising world dedicated server file to run the server.

Server runs fine and is discoverable. I did what you said and it works! Thanks!
