Update changed permissions?

A small new update is available now!
Unfortunately the forums, server list and report tool were offline last night due to technical issues. Sorry for the inconvenience! It should be working again.
However, unfortunately the Standalone update is temporarily not available. We expect it to be fixed in a couple of hours. Please let me know if you want to get a Steam key instead!
  • I use admin areas for all player claims right now, it seems the players don't have permissions to open doors or chests but can remove blocks and items still. Replacing down doors and chests seems to give permissions back. What do I need to change so they can open doors and chests on their own claim again?

  • There had been indeed a small change. There is a usealldoors (new) and useallchests permission (under general). If it's about naturally spawned objects (e.g in POI's), the usenaturalobjects permission (new) will be relevant. Otherwise everything is affected by the general useallobjects permission.

I've also updated the overview of all permissions: Permissions [New Version]

However, if something still does not work as expected, please let me know ;)

I have updated the permissions with those you mentioned and its acting the same. What's weird is, if the player removes the door they cant open and places it back down, it works after that. Is there a permission tied to who placed the door? I should also note, the player is using a house I blueprinted for him. Its on his area protection but i placed it.

Yes, players are always allowed to use their own doors. After removing and re-placing the door, it automatically becomes their door.

But for doors specifically, there are only two permissions relevant: the general useallobjects permission under general (if it's false, the player cannot interact with any objects he does not own) and the new usealldoors permission. If you want players to be able to use other doors, set useallobjects to true and also set usealldoors to true (although that's the default value for this permission anyway).

  • Some players on my server report that after the update they cant open doors and chests too in other players claims

We use my LandClaim plugin that internally uses vanilla areas+area permission files, and the area-permission for the other player is "almost all true".

Update: I just logged in and even i as admin cant open a chest created by another player on my own property

  • So it seems the player permissions are superseding area permissions? Or visa versa? The player I had the issue with had a house I made and printed for him. No issue without area protection on it. But with it, doors and chests were insufficient permission even with the useallobjects, usealldoors and useallchests set to true. All other players with self built stuff didn’t experience this.
