Trashbins improvement?

Hi.

While playing in survival I often was bothered with item deletion. I know that trashbins delete items, but throwing items in 1x1 sized hole is a bit problematic to the point, that I resorted to simply destroying excess items by throwing them on ground and hitting them with pickaxe/axe.
Can trashbins be remade to work like containers for easy item placement maybe? And after bin is closed - to delete what was put inside? Or maybe make trashbin for survival too in invetory, the same way as in creative?
