Greetings!

It would be very useful to organize the blueprints.
what exactly do you want to do with your blueprints once you open them?
I don't fully understand what you mean with "organise the blueprints". You can currently have them in different folders in your blueprints folder to organise them in groups
I know, but it would be a useful tool to organize everything.
I do not want to open the 3D model, just a 2D preview!
A plugin that lets you open the blueprint screenshots, for example.
I use creative mode a lot, whenever I make a wall, roof or fence, I save blueprints to use as building modules in the future.
If I have a preview blueprint app, It would be much easier to organize everything In the blueprints folder.
Another thing that would be interesting: The "spray texture tool" in creative mode ... is it possible to create a plugin that allows the use of any texture? Put textures of bricks straight on the wall or floor, without needing blocks, planks or beams?
ok so if I understand you correctly:
You want to open the screenshot of your blueprints without opening your journal (why not open your journal and find the blueprint you want, what would the advantage of a separate GUI be?). And then you want to somehow organise your blueprints based on those screenshots?
I am really sorry but I don't get it :?
An external frontend, An app for windows that allows to organize blueprints. An app that shows a preview image of the blueprint.
I save a lot of blueprints during a game session, but as they are varied, I save them all in the same folder, and the next day, or a few days later, when I have about 20 blueprints, I organize the folder with subfolders: "Wooden floor_02", "asymmetrical stone wall_04", "wooden wall_06".
I would like to do this without having to run the game.
But do not worry, I'll try to remember to save a screenshot and copy into the blueprints folder, it will have the same result when I decide to organize the blueprints.

You can make several folders in the blueprint folder, but as you already told, without seeing anything.
With 20 blueprints this isn't very complicated, but I've got more than 3000 blueprints by saving several steps
of a building and trying to get rid of them is very time-consuming. It would be very pleased to have
such a preview as you suggested.
ah ok now I get it yes it is possible to create a standalone app to display the blueprint images since the image is saved in the .blueprint file as a series of RGBA byte values.
I have two proposals for you to choose:
1) add the option to save the blueprint image as a separate jpg or png file in my Blueprint Editor (with the same name as the blueprint) if that would help you
2) create an executable that will save the images as separate jpg or png files from all your blueprints present in a specific folder.
I will not choose, I have no idea how to do it , but if someone wants to accept the suggestion, I'll be happy to know.

Is it possible to add more item pictures in your Blueprint editor to have an overview what is to be changed? Only if it's
possible, sometimes item parts need to be tried several times to be complete. Btw I love the editor .
@WalterDasTrevas ok in fact if you are patient I can do both those options but it will take some time
@Deirdre what kind of images do you want to see? (I intend to add the textures but I have ran into a few problems that I am trying to solve to get that to work as I want it)or do you mean something like an overview panel showing e.g . Beam 56 -> Beam 46 (with pictures of the two textures)?

Patience is my middle name.
@Minotorious I'll send you a pn.
My answer comes a bit late, but I think it would be pretty useful if the icon of the blueprint files will be automatically set to the preview image contained in the file... Don't know how to do something like this most efficiently in windows... But I know that for instance a music file can save an album cover image which is then shown as the icon in the explorer, so I mean something just like this
that would be the best solution @Galveston01, I personally have no idea how to set file icons but if someone does I would love to hear from them
Think that is something @red51 would have to implement for the .blueprint files.
