Ok so I tried my first attempt at making furniture and not the standard type in the workstations. It is hard since the parts dont get very small and curves are a real issue. But you can make it up on a set of blocks. (I know you all know this) You take the blocks away at the end and take a blueprint of it in the air. You then can place it anywhere with another blueprint... though you cant sit in it. UNLESS you put a bench under it or a chair inside it then you can sit on it. 
Maybe you have a better workaround you can tell me about .
