Ok this has become annoying. Everytime I log on my map is no longer saving places I have been two days ago. It only shows the immediate area I am currently at. Why is this? 
Is it a setting?
Nevermind. I think i changed the map in my character to a another one in inventory by mistake and that seemed to wipe it.
Changing map does not do this. Changing your server name resets the fog of war on all player maps. I found this out the hard way. 
Hmm that may be it afterall since I added a mod and changed the name to let people know. Luckily everyone is on your server so I impact fewer than you did. 
They should put in a text file that you can change when you hover over the server.. Sort of an advert from the server.
The old map is still there in your maps folder in the RW directory. It remains under the old name, to keep ot just copy the contents of the old map folder to the newly created one
oh drat now you tell us.. 
Already went and remapped everything and now have new things on the map the old one did not have. But just in case I cant find someplace that I marked before I will keep it filed
