Horizontal doors

I've heard that in order to do a horizontal-laying door, you have to blueprint it and rotate it down. (like a trap door or a floor hatch, for example)

So I tried that and it looked great. However, the door swing doesn't work. While the door was correctly laying horizontal, when opened the door would retain the swing direction of the original upright door. Instead of opening "upwards", it swings along the floor.

How do I get one to work correctly?
