It's indeed a bug (the same as in the video), it will be fixed soon ;) As a workaround, you can try to avoid pressing any movement keys after respawning until the world is fully generated around you (but this does not work in all situations)

In other words build a faster computer so that the world finishes generating quicker than the time it takes to die. ;-p

The people in USA told me the updates were probably for Steam to do VR stuff on the games that can. I don't know if they are pulling my leg or trolling me. But I did get about 15 updates out of my ~50 games. I just thought was a steam bug. So I read the Steam forum no official mention far as I can tell at this time everyone is asking that too it like Steam team is ignoring the question. Either way must be a bug or scheduled push. At least update was not so large and I only got about 30% of my games updated. Man hope it wasn't a virus imagine if steam did a DOS attack at focused ip ranges like banks & governments lol. Obama care website would go down lol

DDoS attack using a bunch of gamer PCs with high specs. Sounds logical to me :)

I just love this game, and when the water update comes, I will be happy :)

So do I. Like when I started Minecraft, playing Rising World is very relaxing. I get a feeling of comfort and serenity as I play. I guess its because I am satisfied from just building a house, doing some hunting and gardening, and just spending a day exploring the land. Its going to be amazing when this game is finished.

Might be a bug. I know on occasion people get attacked by invisible bears. Happened to be once. I think someone else actually had the exact same issue as you with dying after respawning after dying from lava:

    start at around 11:30

Did anyone just get a 12 MB update for rising world? I see no announcements and I've been getting a lot of 0 byte updates for random games which I think is just a Steam bug. I dont see any anouncements on here however.

Uhh.. nevermind. I still have version 0.6.5.1. I'm pretty sure that's the current version.

The developers do what they can to make the game real and those who think they can do better go on try to make a game it's no easy task but theres nothing that stops you so be my guest but please stop hitting on our developers and show some respect to those who are willing to make games for us who don't or can't make games !!!
    ;)

This! The programming i had to do in college was hard enough and the extent of my programming career now is that I write server scripts in Python and Bash for maintaining our systems and I manage Ivy and Maven scripts which handle all the resolve the resource dependencies for complex projects that the real programmers here create. The stuff I do is simple compared to what the developers here do which involves writing efficient multi-threaded object oriented code which has to process millions of messages a day in an efficient manner otherwise we bog down our production environment. I can't imagine having to design a video game from scratch, especially one that isn't using something more common like Unity engine which I hear makes it quite simple to just piecemeal a game together. I downloaded the jmonkey sdk out of curiosity but I really don't know where to begin. Getting graphics on the screen is only the most visible aspect of a game design. There's a lot of methods and classes to write to do all the number crunching in the background before anything actually gets drawn to the screen. I'd like to see anyone who complains about slow development show off their development talent, if any.

    Hi Yak,

I did not really word that very well. Let me clarify. My idea is to opt-in to unstable builds. I totally agree that there is a big risk of pushing unstable builds onto game servers where possible world corruption is possible and I would never suggest that every new build that Red makes be automatically published for mainstream consumption. However, some of us are more development minded and wouldn't mind playing with new features (and aid in bug reporting) in full understanding of the risk. I take my own precautions in game saves. I run my own server and I do not allow automatic updates whatsoever. I keep my saves and config data under version control for safe keeping and allow game updates when I am personally ready to move forward.

If you look at a game like Stranded Deep, you'll see in Steam that an experimental branch is available which has lots of extra features not completely debugged but gives you an idea of how development is going and gives the gamer an opportunity to provide useful feedback to the developer.

So we really are living in a computer simulation. Maybe this world is a Rising World and I'm playing Rising World with a Rising World. I think Red needs to change the name of the game again! 0_0

We just have to wait and see what happens. Unless red gets help, there will be a very long wait for a lot of the stuff that is mentioned in the roadmap. One person can only do so much. We are all going to just have to wait patiently.

Another thing to mention is that Red doesn't rush updates. He's a perfectionist so nothing he releases is ever half-assed. The drawback is that we have to wait longer. I personally would like to see more frequent updates even if they are buggy or maybe access to a test build in Steam so we can see what's going on. But that's totally his choice whether to allow that.

An antique parchment found in a lost case around Jerusalem is telling us, among other things, that the water update might come before the day of reckoning eventually.

Wow! I like Rising World but I didn't know it had religious significance. :)

Just a reminder, for anyone who can't wait any longer to take a dive in Rising World, there is a very special secret lake hidden in the game (probably left in there for testing purposes). To find it, simply switch on creative mode and mine straight down to about -800. You'll find it after passing through the glowing red rock.

    Hop right in! :)

    Hi Trillnar,

I just purchased StarOne and besides from some annoyingly repetitive music, it looks like it's well developed for Early Access... Not that I'm going to abandon Rising World anytime soon.. HELL NO!! Rising World features a world that can be completely deconstructed. It looks like the terrain is fixed in StarsOne.
