A new update is now available, introducing fishing, climbing gear, clothes and more!
Latest hotfix: 0.8.5.2 (2025-05-01)

It would be great if the technical object had a GUI with options such as volume and effective distance, also the ability to upload a sound file such as wav or mp3 for world designers to add their own custom ambient sounds would be fantastic :)

A Dual core I series cpu at around 2ghz or better

    6gb of ram

Microsoft windows server 2019 or the latest version of windows 10 or windows 11.

There is also a dependency you need to install to get the plugin api working, but i forget what that is atm I have had it working in the past but it isn't easy to find the right one. However it will still load and can be played without it.

Ohh you mean 2 functions on the same button? Yes i believe that is what happened. Before the update it allowed you to have the copy and the f assigned to the middle mouse button so when you crosshaired an element and you were in gm1 it would copy the block and when you were placing things in a furnace for example it used to work as the f key. The update stopped that so only one function would work on the middle mouse button I have to now use a different mouse for RW which has an extra 2 buttons which Ive assigned to copy and f.

I like to have all the frequently used controls on the mouse. But Ive set up another mouse just for RW with 2 extra buttons on the side which can be assigned to different keys, so that seems to work for copy and F and I can have the radial menu on it too :-)

Oh that's disappointing 8|, I always assign the f key to the mouse to make the building as un-clunky as possible. Maybe ill have to get a new mouse with extra buttons on it to get the copy function back as it really does save a fair bit of time when building.

I have finally got this working. Because of Unity 6 the minimum server requirement is MS Server.....

Windows 10 version 21H1 (build 19043) or newer, running on workstation and rack form factors, without emulation or compatibility layer

so this is also the NEW minimum server version requirement to run RW server after the season update. I managed to get a copy of windows server 2019 which runs nicely on an old Dell optiplex 390. This version runs RW server without having to install any service pack updates.

Hmm... this is an internal Unity error. You could try to verify the files, as suggested by noci and james1bow , just to make sure no files are corrupted...

However, I'm afraid that this error is because of Windows Server 2012... we've updated to Unity 6, and they dropped support for older Windows versions unfortunately (Windows 7 and Windows 8). Since Windows Server 2012 is based on Windows 8, chances are high that it's just no longer supported by Unity :/ Sorry for not having any positive news...

Thanks Red I appreciate the help, that saves me allot of time messing around with redistributors , I will install server 2016 which i think is based on windows 10 and retry ^^

For anyone curios to know........ I have finally solved the problem.

Rising world server is compatible with Windows Server 2012 as long as you install the dependency. To get it working use the below link and dl and install the 64bit version ... you can also install the 32 bit version for good luck :-D

    'Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022'

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en…d-vc-redist?view=msvc-170

The link in a previous post about this problem, the dev gave a link to the old vs2015 dependency that didn't work as the jdm was looking for files that were not there.

As for the scheduler for the server........ god knows why its non functional.. I will get to the bottom of it eventually

Hope this helps others that come accross this problem.

After the Plugin API version update im getting jdk dependency errors. The plugin system is DOA and also the permission system is effected, the server still runs however.

"[ERROR] DllNotFoundException: Unable to load DLL '../Java/JDK/bin/server/jvm.dll'. Tried the load the following dynamic libraries: Unable to load dynamic library '../Java/JDK/bin/server/jvm.dll' because of 'Failed to open the requested dynamic library (0x06000000) - The specified module could not be found. (WinError:0000007e)"

What OS's are compatible with Rising World Server? - it seems to work ok with windows 10 but windows server 2012 its coming up with the above error. I can upgrade my OS if necessary.

I saw a link to download vc 2015 from a previous post but my server already has vc2017 and wont allow me to install the 2015 version because it says 2017 version super-seeds it.

Also the scheduler no longer works, the server will not restart automatically which is a pain because i have to manually remote into it to restart.

It would be handy to have a comprehensive detailed manual available about Rising World Server, with all the technical information in one place rather than having to trawl through the forum and missing something vital, which I probably have

    any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Its a 10 year old graphics card wich was from the beginning no realy good.

You realy should think about buying another one.

Its old but still a capable gpu, testament to the fact its running Rising World on windows 10 at an acceptable level even if its without clouds. Not everyone can afford to upgrade their systems and the fact the game does support older hardware means a larger player base which this game needs. So that was the purpose of my report.

I have now set up my main PC and can say everything's is working well on max graphics settings and the graphics are quite spectacular!
